Seeking Feedback on the Spanish Schoolhouse Preschool

Hi moms!

I was wondering if anyone had/has their child on the Spanish Schoolhouse preschool. My daughter is currently enrolled in a great Montessori school, but I would really like her to learn Spanish, so I am considering this school for her. However, I wonder how good or committed to the children the teachers are, etc.... My daughter is happy where she is so I am afraid to make a mistake here. On the other hand, learning a second language does help you a lot in the long run, so I am not sure what to do.

Have you had any experience with this school that you could share with me? Also, what campus does your kid go to? I would really, really appreciate any comments!

Thanks a lot!

What can I do next?

I don't have any feedback right now, but I'm glad you asked this question. I've been researching this preschool recently. Enrolling full time is not going to work logistically for me now (there are no locations close enough to my home or office), but we are going to try their summer camps this year. It's good to see and hear (somewhere other than on the school's website)about other parents' good experiences with them.

L.,
My son went to the Spanish Schoolhouse in Frisco about 3 years ago and it was really great. The director, if she is still the one, also owns it -- and the kids are taught spanish by only spanish speaking natives from all over central and south america. It was really good for him.

My son has really enjoyed his time there. I think being exposed to a second language, has been a good thing. It took him a while to get used to it. They help the children at first using some English, but after a few weeks it's total immersion. They do get an English class in the morning.

What cinched it for me was how loving they are with the children. Hugs and kisses are the norm at his school. They are also more flexible with the children than at his previous mdo. If the child is having an off day, they let him nap when he needs it rather than at the specified time. At his age, I think it's more important for him to be ezposed to a nurturing rather than academic environment and I think the language immersion just adds to it all.

The teachers are wonderful. They are very loving and positive with the kids. This is our 4th year at Spanish Schoolhouse and we love it. I highly recommend it. You won't regret it. We've been at the Frisco campus the entire time.

Our little girl is enrolled in the Spanish Schoolhouse and has been for 2 years. We all love it. I strongly recommend you give them a chance, you won't be sorry. Good Luck!

Not sure what you decided, but I'll share my two cents :) I've only heard good things and my husband and I decided to enroll our son. He'll be 2 1/2 when he starts the 2009 school year. Flower Mound just opened their branch and I went to one of their open houses - while the school wasn't ready yet (they're in a church building) I was offered to go to any of their other schools to get a feel for what they would have available for the children in September. I took the time to go to Coppell and LOVED what I saw. I'm glad to read that the mom's who sent you their advice only had good news to share, which confirms our decision, thanks!!!
