Seeking Feedback on Behavior Program
Has anyone used "The Turnaround Program" for behavior modification in children? I am at the end of my rope with my 11 year old! This is a rather expensive package. I am willing to do without in some other area and invest in it if it's worth every cent, but would rather not if others have found it not very useful.
So What Happened?™
Thanks to those who responded to my inquiry. I decided to take a look into the 1,2,3 Magic program, and found a resource center that is willing to let me use their copy. Thanks again!

I have also had great success with the 1-2-3 Magic program, the author is Dr. Thomas Phelan, you can probably check it out at your local library. It works amazingly well in a short amount of time! Good luck!

Look in your public library or if you have a colllege (especially a teaching college) near by, check their library.

As the mother of an 8 year old "special" child who has spent 15 days in the local mental facility for stabilization, I would recommend 1-2-3 Magic.. It works for all ages, and teaches you alot about what discipline SHOULD NOT be.. hope this helps.

Look into play therapy, I don't know exactly what your child is going through, but I do know that it has helped my son a lot with a difficult move, and his father going to Iraq. I have heard that it works very well with children with ADD, ADHD, and Autism as well. Our county schools in my area have a scholarship program that pays for the play therapy, and I think some insurances cover it as well. The reason I mention it is because my son was very angry and would scream, yell, throw tantrums, and try to run away. It helped his behavior a lot. :)

I wouldn't bother buying a system. Just read what you can on the web and print out whatever free charts, etc.
