Seeking Family Doctor for Me and My Husband in McKinney

I second Dr. Simmons and Personal MD. I had been searching years for a good Dr in McKinney, not only for myself but for my children and dh as well. You can't get better than Dr. Simmons and his staff! If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

We see Dr. Rhonda Hopkins in McKinney. She treats me, my husband, our kids, and my parents! She is very attentive, never 'rushes', and I love that she's not afraid to try unconventional methods in addition to conventional medicine. For example, my dad has slightly high cholesterol, so she had him trying fish oil to raise his good levels and something else natural (sorry, my daughter is running around I can hardly concentrate! LOL) to bring down the bad. She's got a great bedside manner and staff, and accepts many different insurances.

I'm not sure how she treats folks with depression issues, but I have no doubt she'll be wonderful. The only downside, and it's so minor, is that her nurse, Terry, sounds really gruff on the phone. It startled me a little when she first called with some test results for my daughter, because in the office she's great! That's the only negative thing I can think of, and it's really nothing much at all. I highly recommend her.

Dr Nelson Simmons on VA parkway- his practice is called Personal MD. I LOVE him. He gives you a full 30 minutes for your appt, and will take the time to truly help and listen. The only thing is he doesnt take insurance at all....but even now that I have it, I still choose to go to him. He only charges us $50/visit and our co-pay is $35, so it is worth it to me to pay the extra few dollars to see a truly caring Dr.

My husband and I use Dr. Sheridan Evans on Virginia Parkway in McKinney. He is very nice, take time with you, and is wonderful.
