Hi,
I'm particularly looking for a non-denominational church that is no pressure. I grew up in church and want the same for my kids. I live in Cedar Park and would like something close as my schedule is quite hectic

What can I do next?

Hi S.,
The Vineyard on Anderson Mill Road is very easy-going and has good kids' church & baby care. We meet at 10am on Sundays in the strip mall just before the road works (if you are coming from 183).

I second High Point Fellowship in Cedar Park on New Hope Road. Our focus is Christ: worshiping Him, imitating Him, and becoming like Him. There are really great children's classes, but kids are welcome in with the adults, too. (That's really important to me - after all, Jesus said let the children come!) There is no pressure - our goal is to be a home of hope, help and healing to each other both before and after someone makes the commitment to be a member. We've been there 4 years and love it. If you decide to visit, e-mail me privately and I'll watch for you!

I cannot attend as we have a high need baby and I cannot leave the house much at all for now. However, we did go to Unity Church which is on Anderson Mill - very nice. I have not looked into the services, as we were there for something else but it was impressive and felt like a really loving, easy-going church. I would look into it. When our little one is older I will probably attend there.

Good luck!
Alli

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints and it's awesome for families. Visitors are always welcome and they have three different congregations in Cedar Park, one meets at 9 and two meet at 11am. The second hour they have primary for the children where they sing songs and learn about Jesus and have activities. I use to love it when I was little! One is on 1004 W Park and the other is 2101 Bagdad Rd
Hope that helps!

Dear S.,
I have a great church for you...it's Hill Country Bible Church NW. It is a non-denominational church, located on 620 and Little Elm. You can check out their website: www.hcbc.com. We've been attending Hill Country Bible Church for 13 years. The children's program is wonderful, the worship music is contemporary, and the message is relevant. Hope you visit. Service times are 9am and 10:45am.
Best wishes.

S. - We attend Hill Country Bible Church in Pflugerville. (www.hcbcpf.com) and there is a much larger sister church right off of 620 and Little Elm. I welcome you to try either one. Ours in Pflugerville is much smaller. Both have incredible worship music, great programs for children and most of all incredible sermons that bring home the word of God in a comfortable setting. Hope you find a church to call home soon!

Hi S. -

You and your family should certainly check out Gateway Community Church. They are located at 183/McNeil (North/East side). They are truly a "no pressure" church! Their motto is "com as you are" and "no perfect people allowed". They have a TERRIFIC Childrens Ministry. Great music and messages as well.

http://www.gatewaychurch.com/site/

They have 3 different service times on Sunday, so I'm sure you'll be able to make one of them!

Best of luck!

Dear S.,
You may not be interested because we live in Round Rock, but if you are looking for the church that you read about in the bible, we are the closest to what you read about. No church building. Church in the home. The only teachings are the bible. Jesus sent his ministers out two together, they don't ask for money nor require tithing. "Freely have you received, freely give" means we received the gospel without charge and our ministers give it without charge. Matthew 10. AS for "easy going" I am not sure what you mean by that. If you are looking for a church that allows you to do whatever you want to without looking at what Christ taught, you would not be interested. We just simply follow the teachings of Christ. All that he taught is what we try to follow as an example for our lives. We believe that when we follow him, all our sins are forgiven and we are no longer "in bondage" to our past or our sins. This year we have two women ministers. K. ###-###-####

I have recently been attending an unbelievable church, Riverbend Church. It is large, which I always said I would NEVER join a huge church, but I am loving it. The church mission is "Come as you are." There are no pretenses. I too am used to a non-denominational atmosphere and can tell you, Riverbend's got it. You only have to hear the pastor one time to know...this place is real.

I am a single mom of two daughters, 8 1/2 and soon to be 6. I have been attending the middle service (which is designed to be a little more traditional than the third contemporary service.), but this Sunday, I am going to tryout the third service. Nothing is lacking in the second service, I just want to try it all before I settle on a routine.

The children's department and the nursery are incredible. My youngest daughter is in a wheelchair and has some other special needs, but the folks in the children's department haven't missed a beat. Not one person has given the usual concerned, overwhelmed appearance as I drop my daughter off.

I live in Round Rock and take Mopac to the Capital of Texas exit. I turn right on Capital of Texas and continue straight until I see the church on the right. It is just past that awesome bridge. Great driving directions to be sure.

You can look up the information on the web.

I have recently been looking for a new church as well. I have really enjoyed attending Gateway church off of 183 on McNeil Rd. The people are wonderful, they have a great kids program, multiple services and no pressure (I am very turned off by that myself). I think it would be well worth your effort to try it out. They are having an Easter Service with music by U-2. I can't wait!! I've found this to be a very unpretentious church where the pastor, etc. come across as real people who face the same struggles we face (they don't put themselves on a pedestal) and I appreciate that. Good luck on your search!!

I also live in Cedar Park and we go to High Point Fellowship on New Hope Road. I love it there....we have been going for a year now. It is laid back-people wear jeans, t-shirts, shorts all the way to high heels and dresses if you want! We currently have two services, 9 & 11 but on Easter Sunday we will have three-8:30, 10:00 and 11:30. I would love for you to come and visit!

Hill Country Bible church....raised our 4 kids there and Tim Hawks, preacher, is a great guy..and although my kids are grown, we don't really know about the children's services, but they must be phenominal! That's all I've heard about the programs...try it....a few times or more. You will be fortunate if you are able to bring your children to a church where the Word of God is taught. Blessings

You should try Hill Country Fellowship in Leander. They are on 2243 between the toll road and 183. This is a very laid back non-denominational church with really great children's and youth programs. I like it, because it is not your typical sit down for an hour and hear about brimstone and fire kinda church. They give sermins about things that you can apply to your own life. You don't have to get all dressed up, everyone is very casual and friendly. I love this church.

Hill Country Bible Church-NW on the corner of Little Elm and 620 is a great place. While it is large, it has a wonderful children's ministry. The teaching comes directly from the Bible, so you know what you are hearing is truth. I think your kids will love it and it's very close for you! I would offer to meet you one Sunday morning and help show you around, but we currently attend Hill Bible Church-UT. God bless you in your search!

i used to live in cedar park and was active in the community through the chamber of commerce. also active in the chamber were various religious leaders. one in particular was linda chandler. she is the sweetest lady and had a small nondenominational congregation she held i think in some school gym. i went on holidays and always felt the spirit with her. i've been away from cedar park for a few years now and am not sure that everyone is still as i left it but figured that may be a place to start. check with the local chamber and they'll have several references for you. good luck and god bless!
