Seeking "Dr Sears" Doctor
Hi, Ladies. I am looking for a great pediatrician or general practitioner that is in line with Dr Sears. We are following the alternate vaccine schedule. I would also like to find a nice place that offers free immunizations. Thank you.

Hi H.,
I know of a great MD in North Charleston, SC that supports non vaccinating families but I'm not sure about the Savannah area. I know Dr. Sears is more open to vaccine opitions but if your looking into this type of schedule, please look into eliminating them all together. Often, the ones that are put on the 'alternative' schedule, are still the most toxic and damaging. Childhoodshots.com offers a GREAT video with tons of resourses if you need a place to start. I have also done my share of research on vaccines since 1998 so ask if you have any questions. We do not vaccinate and it is the best decision we could have ever made for our child! So much harm is done everyday that so many parents look blindly too until something drastic happens. Do your research and make the right decision for your child. Yes your child can get into school without ANY shots, THEY just dont tell you that. Best of luck to you and your family!

As far as free vaccines go...The Georgia Immunization Program for Children allows for free vaccines for children who are underinsured or unisured. This means that your child can only have vaccines for free if they do not have insurance or if their insurance does not cover vaccines; otherwise they are not qualified. That said, many doctors offices are sponsors of the program and will give them the vaccines, but will charge an administrative fee (usually about $15 or so, I'm not sure if that is per shot or total). The other option is to go to the health department. They will charge you an administrative fee based on a sliding scale depending on your income (no more than $15 per shot I think). I did that with my daughter and paid nothing.
Good luck!

Hi H.,
Are you in Savannah? We are on an alternative vaccination schedule at Piedmont Pediatrics with Dr. Harris. We're in Atlanta though, so not sure if that helps.
Good luck!
