Seeking Birthing Classes

I'm trying to find a place where I can get birthing classes besides Crittenton and St. Joe's Pontiac. The dates they have available my husband has to work. I'm trying to find one immediately and for one day only. I'm at 36 weeks so I'm trying to hurry and find someone but haven't had any luck because the ones I find are 12 weeks long! Any help is welcomed. Thank you!!

What can I do next?

I took hypnobirthing and it really worked for me, I know birthing methods can be a touchy subject, but if you are running out of time I know that Amazon has dvds that you can buy, that's probably what I'll do my next time around as a refresher. I thought the class was good but everything I learned I could've read or watched on a dvd. They may have dvd's for other methods - even check your library - might be the fastest convenient way to go. Good luck!!

If you're interested in hypnobirthing or bradley classes you may be able to find someone that will do a class in a few hours 2X or something like that. Let me know if that's something you'd like. I know a couple people that do those types of classes.

Every hospital has them. I took mine through Generations OBGYN-my DR office. 15 mile & Old Woodward ave.

I had a terrific instructor who did Lamaze with my husband and I. She does it out of her home and is very flexible, I bet she would be willing to do a few classes together to get you done quicker. She is in Rochester Hills, let me know if you are interested and I will get you her information. Good luck~

I completly understand why you want to take a birthing class but I was very disapointed in the class I took. They covered EVERYTHING in such a short amount of time that they couldn't really cover ANYTHING to the amount I wanted to know it. My advice is to read all the books you can about the method you are leaning towards. AND don't forget that in just a couple of weeks you will need to know how the breastfeed (if you are doing that) or make a bottle (if you are doing that) and how to do all the other things a new baby will need. I forgot that until about 2 weeks to my due date, boy that motivated me to read!!! I would reccomomend Dr. Sears books -- they cover a great deal of sides to all the issues/concerns. They have a birth book and a baby book. You might beable to get them from the library I don't know. God bless and have fun with your new baby and family!!!

Our OB offered a one day option and at that time it was offered once a month. They are at Providence Hospital - the OB office is Associates in OBGYN in Providence Park in Novi.
GOod luck!
