Seeking Birthday Party Ideas for 3 Year Old

My son is turning three the end of June and I am looking for somewhere fun to cater my childs event. Last year we had the party at a little gym place and although the kids seemed to have a great time, the gym was very hot and the environment was a little dim. I really like to have the event outside of my home to minimize the work for me so I can focus on my little guy. Does anyone know of any good places to throw a party in the Cumming or Alpharetta area? Thank you for offering some advice!

What can I do next?

Jumpsters on Peachtree Pkwy and Sharon Rd is pretty good. Kids jump on inflatables. I've also been to some Big Air birthday parties, off McFarland, that were also fun for the kids but I preferred the seating area for parents at Jumpsters. The Forsyth Family YMCA, off Post Rd, offers parties too. http://www.ymcaatlanta.org/uploadedFiles/BDAY07.pdf

Parties at home can be a lot of work but I prefer home parties. At some places, like Chuck E. Cheese, everyone has fun...but all the kids go in different directions and I feel like they are hardly together. I've had some parties at home with magicians and it's a big hit. Also kids love Pin the Tail on the Donkey, a pinata, limbo, musical chairs, making a craft. I've also had a birthday party for an older kid at the movies, even getting a tour of the projection room. Your guy is probably too little for that. Good luck!

What about one of those indoor inflatable jumping places? Jump Zone, etc... I'm not that familiar with your area... I've had a couple of birthday parties at places like that. Kids always have a blast and there's not much for you to do.

I live in Cumming and have had several of my kids' parties at Pump it Up- off 400 exit 13. There is also a place off Hwy 9 called Catch Air. We have also gone the route of Chuck-e-Cheese (Once!!!) which is typically too out of control for me, except if you pick a weekday morning (they open at 10) you will have the place to yourselves and that can be a fun party too. For a sports party, there is Fundamental Sports off Pendly that will do indoor sports parties, but check with them on the ages first- not sure what age they start. Good Luck!

I agree with the Catch Air suggestion! We've been there for playgroup a number of times, as well as for a very well-organized birthday party. My son and his friends love it there.

S., have you ever tried Monkey Joes? My grandson had his 3rd birthday party there and they had the time of their lives. I know that there is one in Roswell. Im not sure if there is one closer to you, but they have plenty to entertain the youngsters, pizza, drinks and you bring the cake. It is comfortable for the adults. Security is wonderful. Parents and children get wrist bands and no one gets outside without matching bands. They will jump in those blow up houses (inflatables) for hours and they will be exhausted when they get home. The adults can play with the kids too, in fact its recommended and a lot of fun! We had a ball!

PS I hadnt been able to read any of the responses until I submitted my response. It seems we are all on the same page. Let us know what you decide to do and how he/they liked it!

Hi S.,

We live in Alpharetta and for my son's 4th birthday, we went to Parties on Air in Duluth (off Peachtree Industrial). It was great because 1). It was soooo clean 2). They supply the pizza and unlimited drinks (some places only give you one drink per child) 3). It was affordable 4). The best part is you get your own jumping room for your party - you don't mix with other birthday parties. There are 4 or five inflatables in your private room, then you move to a private "party" room for the cake and pizza. They hold all the gifts for you in a private area, too.

My son still talks about his party we had in January and he wants to go back again for his next birthday.

For his third birthday, I did a train theme and rented an inflatable for the backyard - it was very affordable, too -I think it was $135/day and he thought it was great because he was able to jump ALL day long. But if you don't want it at home - Parties on Air is a great place. Not to mention, he'll tire out so much, he will crash early! :-)

Have fun!

D.

Is Midtown Atlanta too far? I have an event called KLUB GROOVE for KIDS that may be perfect for him if he loves to dance. (If your kids are like mine, they do love to dance). It's a place where kids & parents can go to dance. It lasts for four hours and you can rent an area for the party. It is open to the public, but it's an opportunity for the kids to celebrate his birthday, dance, eat, and go home exhausted (whoop pee!!!)! Look at my profile for more information on the event!
