Seeking an OB/GYN in Kennesaw or North Marietta

I am due for my annual exam next month and have not yet found an ob/gyn here. I need to find a doctor here in the Kennesaw or north Marietta area. I had my first baby via c-section one year ago, and my husband and I are planning to try for #2 starting later this year. I had a very big first baby (11 lbs.) and so I am inclined to want a scheduled c-section the second time around. Therefore, if anyone out there had a really good experience with their doctor performing a c-section, I would especially love to hear about them. The OB who provided my prenatal care and performed my c-section where we used to live was so wonderful, I need to find someone here that I can really trust. I also need to make sure they do a good job caring for an adavnced maternal age patient (I will be 35 next month) and can help me navigate the conception process this time around, as it took us 1 year to conceive our little boy. There seem to be a lot of doctors in the area, but a referral would make me feel so much more comfortable. Thanks!

I'd like to HIGHLY recommend North Marietta Women's OB/GYN. I have seen Dr. Dyar there for 4 years (and both my mom and my sister also go there). I had my first child with them (it was a C-section) and one of the other doctors in the practive actually delivered me (Dr.Wyant was the one on call the night I delivered) and he did a beautiful job! We are going to have to have another C-Section when we do get PG again (working on it)and I am not worried at all about it. There are 4 doctors in the office: Dr.Dyar, Dr. Wyant, Dr. Jimeniz, and Dr.Webb.
Here's their phone # ###-###-####. All the doctors there have WONDERFUL bedside manner and you are always able to get in for an appt! Good luck, and let me know if you end up going there!

B.,

The practice I go to is North Cobb Women’s Health. Located on Vann Street in Marietta, across fro Kennestone Hospital. I have had two children while in this practice and LOVE the all the doctors. I do prefer Dr. Robert Dyar in particular, he is very through and has great bedside manner. I cannot however address the c-section or conception process, I cannot imagine that this sought-after practice would be a bad choice for anyone planning to conceive. I will say that the practice does consist of mostly men, there are two women and four men, all are great. The phone number is ###-###-####. Oh and I NEVER in 6 years have had to wait more then 10 minutes in the waiting room and they always worked me in if I needed to be seen, called in prescriptions without being seen for mild stuff, and they have a sonogram machine on site. Good luck!

Hi, B.-
I, too, HIGHLY recommend Dr. Mary Pitcher. Although both of my deliveries were vaginal, my first pregnancy was a high risk one (pregnancy induced hypertension and pre-eclampsia), and I credit Dr. Pitcher completely with getting my daughter and I here safely. Her colleagues are wonderful and all are female. All of them have an excellent bedside manner. They are adamant about delivering their own babies (i.e. not the doctors who happen to be at the hospital), only by someone in the practice. Most often it is your own doctor, and Dr. Pitcher delivered both of mine. Their number is ###-###-#### Good luck!

Hi, B.. I am a 35 year-old new mother of a 4 month old. I also had a C-section, as my baby was breech for months and never turned. My OB is really great. Her name is Dr. Mary Pitcher and she is with a practice of 4 other female doctors. The address is 574 Church Street, NE, Marietta, GA 30060. The number is ###-###-####. Let me know if you have any questions!

He's not in Marietta or Kennesaw, but I see Dr. Arthur Gumer who is right next to Northside. Here's his website: http://www.awhg.yourmd.com/

My daughter was born in June and was one ounce shy of 11 lbs, so I ended up having a c-section. Dr. Inand is the one who did the c-section. Everything was handled very well. Next time around (if there is one), I will schedule my c-section so that Dr. Gumer will delivery. I have a friend who sees Dr. Donnely (not sure if I spelled that right) in the same practice, but he's located in Marietta, I think. She is 36 and had twins two days before I had my daughter (delivered by Dr. Graham).

It is a wonderful practice to go to. I have never met anyone who wasn't friendly or helpful. I had a lot of issues after my delivery and they were wonderful!!!

I have a rare neurological condition that's in remission. I was concerned about it during my delivery and the entire pregnancy. While I didn't really have to worry, the doctors listened to me and wanted to hear more about my concerns even up through labor and delivery. I highly recommend this practice.

Hi B.,

I have used OBGYN of Atlanta for years. I was 35 when I got pregnant (and it took us about 1 year) and ended up having a C-section since my daughter wanted to come out feet first! Dr Modi did my C-section, but I think all of their MDs have lots of experience. I also had a midwife present through most of my labor experience, even in the OR. They have an office in NorthEast Cobb on Johnson Ferry Rd (in Marietta). The info is:

Johnson Square Office Complex
1519 Johnson Ferry Road
Suite 175
Marietta, Georgia 30062
Phone: ###-###-####
Fax: ###-###-####

I would also recommend having your baby at Northside hospital. They have excellent care for newborns.

Best of luck!

I also go to North Cobb Women's Health on Vann street in Marietta near Kennestone. I have been going there for over 7 years, my mom has been going there for almost 20 years. They are a great group of Doctors and the nursing staff are always nice and listen to any of your concerns. I have always been able to get an appointment no matter what. I personaly like all of the doctors there but I would agree with the other two ladies, Dr. Dyar is a great doctor. I hope you decide to go there.

I go to Marietta OBGYN Affilates in Marietta next to Kennestone Hospital. Dr. Gregg Baur is my doctor and he delivered both my boys. My first was not a C-section but my second was. The C-section he did was pain free and quick. I had a really easy recovery and no complications. I left the hospital a day earlier than the usual time you leave when having a C-section. They specialize in high risk pregnency and infertility. Good luck to you.
