Seeking an Experienced Seamstress near the Arlington Heights Area

Does anyone know of a good seamstress in the area? I am getting re-married June 27 and my dress just came in at Bridesmart. They charge alot and I had a bad experience with the seamstress several years ago with a bridesmaid dress. Along with basic alterations, I am having a halter strap added and want some beading placed on it to coordinate with the beading on the dress. Also the tie in the back needs to be made from purple fabric (which I have). I am looking for someone who is very familiar with wedding dresses and has prior work I can see. I don't want to trust my dress to just anyone. I can always use Bridesmart if I have to, but I would rather find someone I might be happier with. Hopefully everyone will have some ideas. Help!!

What can I do next?

I have a woman I have been using for years! She did my wedding dress. Retired woman, VERY talented, rates are so much less than others. Does sewing out of her home.
If u didn't find anyone yet, let me know. She lives off Palatine Rd right pas Ela Rd ( Palatine - North Hoffman area).

Hi J.,

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding and marriage! I have a seamstress to recommend. Here is her website:

She's not in your immediate area, but she is very good and very experienced. Best wishes!

Congratulations! I actually bought my dress at Wedding Bells in Barrington and they always recommend the same seamstress. I want to say that her name is Alana Covello and I think she lives in Glenview. She did a fabulous job. I don't know her #, but if you are interested, I would call Wedding Bells. Good luck.

Bridesmart is where I got my dress almost 6 years ago as well as did the alterations- and I was very happy with them. It was a Russian or Polish lady, heavyset and older, maybe in her 60s who did the alterations and she was fantastic- been doing them her whole life. So if you do go there, try to find out if the Russian lady is there!
