I recommend the sit-n-stand as well. My kids are 3 1/2 years apart. We got the sit-n-stand when one was almost 4 years old and the other was 6 months. Both seem to like it. Prior to that we used an infant carrier or sling for the baby and a regular stroller for my daughter.

My Baby trend sit n stand was awesome!! You can use your infant carrier on the front and when the baby gets older it's a regular stroller in the front. Your 3 year old can sit or stand in the back area. I used it when I had my son. My daughter was 3. I think we used it up until she was almost 6!!
Good luck!

I am pregnant with my 3rd and am looking for the same thing. The solution I came up with is expensive but practical. It's called the Phil and Ted

I Struggled with the price of it (and still haven't ordered it :-)) but it seems like the perfect solution. Slimmer than the side by side ones, can probably take it more places.
Hope this helps.

I know you said you have a newborn, so I don't know if this stroller is best for you, but I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 9 month old. We have the BabyTrend Expedition jogging stroller

http://www.onestepahead.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId...

It moves so nicely and it fits through our own front door, and the aisles at the grocery store. We didn't get a double stroller until right now, so I don't know anything about the ones that accomodate newborns. All I can tell you is that this one is great. Its got nice sized baskets and 2 cup holders for mom. It folds compactly, which is nice. I bought an SUV so that I could fit a double stroller (when I was still pregnant), but I don't think I really needed to with this stroller. The only thing it does not have is a snack tray/cup holder for the kids, but that has not been a problem yet.

The question you need to answer is whether or not your 3 year old will be sleeping in the stroller (my 2 1/2 year old does). If so, getting a tandem (sit and stand) is not a good idea because the older child's seat is uncomfortable and 1 child's comfort requires taking away comfort from the other.

I hope this helped. Good luck. Its such a hassle trying to find a good stroller, especially one that folds compactly.

Try looking into a Sit*n stand stroller.

I mean I have a Graco duo Glider and I love it. But you maybe wanna look into a sit n stand bcuz you have an infant and a toddler.

Hi L.,
I am a former Graco employee, so my advice might be a bit biased. However Graco introduced a great double stroller last year. It was designed with "non-twins" in mind. The front seat is designed with an older child in mind and the back seat is great for an infant. It has good suspension, folds with one hand is relatively compact. It is called the Quattro Tour Duo. I know Babies R Us carries it. Walmart and Target offer it online and in select stores.

Phil and Ted's. My friend has the same age gap as you, she loves it, especially because infant can sleep undistrubed while the older child can hop in and out of the stroller. http://www.philandteds.com/nz/index.htm

None of them are really wonderful. The side by sides are better than the front to back. One step ahead makes a really nice one. it has a seat for the toddler. I am not sure if you get the magazine, but it's called "Onse Step Ahead".

My kids are almost 3 years and 6 months and I like my Sit n Stand stroller. You can put the infant carseat in the front if you want, or just buckle the baby in. The toddler can get on and off, which can try your patience at times, but there is a buckle to secure them if needed.

Hi
I used a Combi side by side which holds up to 45 lbs each side. I have it in grey with a rain cover too. My daughter is 5 and almost 44 lbs so it has had good use, especially for the zoo and airports. Depending on where you live, we could meet and you could see it. I'm in Hockessin area. ###-###-####. It is narrower than most side by sides and is lighter than any others I looked at. I have a Combi single as well and have used it more than most people--used to live in major city where we walked, didn't drive. Hope this helps.
