Seeking Advice for Roof and Ceiling Repair

I don't know a good roofer, but I do know that if you want to eliminate the water stains, get a can of Kilz, a special water-seal type paint, it's white, and paint over the stain. Then repaint your ceiling the same color as before. If you don't use the Kilz, the stain will keep "bleeding" through.

I can recommend Evans & Horton Roofing. It's a small, family owned company and the owners live next door to me. Good people.

As for the stain, I've had one of those before and there are a few things to note...is it moldy? If so, you'll want to spray it with a bleach solution...maybe 1/2 bleach 1/2 water or even less bleach to water. Let that dry and see if that removes the mold. If there is no mold, you start with this step...next paint with kilz. You may need a few coats, but take the time to do the kilz a few times before finally painting with paint to get rid of the stain on the wall/ceiling. Assuming the leak is fixed, you shouldn't have the stain come back through.

A. - There is a company called Paul Davis Restoration. They do awesome work! They will come out and look at your roof as well as the inside. You really need to make sure the inside gets looked at and make sure there is not any mold growing. Dont' just paint over them because you never know what is behind it.If you need to file on your insurance they can help you with that too. They were just the best of the ones I called to help me. Astro Roofing, he is the best. Ron Wilson and the number is ###-###-#### tell him G. Williams referred you. Call your insurance and have an insurance claim person come look and give a claim. Then call Ron. My insurance really was good. He got my fence and gutters and made the claim worth repairs. Actually all new. Nothing out of my pocket as they worked it for the deductible and I had money left over. My neighbor said she has had them do it 8 times in different homes. And she is a Pastor's wife. So go for it. I took a vacation on top of it. Also the stains, protect the carpet with plastic and you can use tilex on the stain. It works better then painting and that always will show. I also got an upgrade. My neighbor did not come out as good as I did but she still was ahead. My other neighbor just had them do his yesterday and they are very professional and his guys have been with him for 15 yrs so you know they are taken care of. G. W
