Seeking Advice and Words of Wisdom-- Naming the Baby Is Making Me So Sad!

Im pregnant with my 2nd...

My son was named after my husband's grandfather as he was a very special important to him. He had a simple and classic name-- JACK. Our Jack fits the name and We love it. It goes perfectly with our last name too.

Im having another boy-- with no name in sight.

My grandma passed away recently and I never ever imagined she wouldnt be here. I miss her terribly and I would love to name my 2nd son after her. Her name was Helen... and there arent many H names to pick from.

My last name is Berger-- so Holten Berger.... Hold the Berger. The list goes on. Our last name makes it even harder. I was even thinking of naming him after her parents which names start with B and S. But nothing seems right.

We did come up with Hudson and Henry and I dont know which one I like more. Does one sound better?

Im so sad and frustrated b/c I so badly want to name him and connect with him. I dont know what to do anymore. Its weighing me down.

Please share you opinions and thoughts.

Thank you!!!

*My grams didnt have a middle name but her maiden name started with an R-- so I was going to use RYAN for the middle name.

Hudson Ryan, Henry Ryan......

I forgot to add that I am Jewish and no juniors allowed :)

Nicholas Henry is another option as my husband's grandpa was Nick... So both boys would be named after his grandpas....

My second son is nine months old and his name is Henry. I love it and can't tell you how much positive feedback I've gotten on it. My husband calls him Hank, but most people call him Henry.

Have you thought about using her maiden name as his middle name? That sometimes works nicely!

Personally, I like Henry. What about naming him with an initial? H. Ryan. How about naming him Hart (heart) - that would honor her in multiple ways.

I'm sorry you lost your dear Grandmother. Now you and your little children have another Guardian Angel.
Just throwing in my 2 cents.
I like Hudson, Hayden, Heath, Harrison and Henry.
I love Ryan as his middle name.
"H" names are tough but I'm sure you'll find the perfect name for your little angel.
Blessings to you.

how about Hank?, it's a short and has the"a" sound as Jack. But between your choice of Hudson or Henry, I think Henry has a nicer ring to it. Good luck, it'll come to you. My Husband and I had names picked out for our daughter, but they all went out the window when she was born. None of them fit her appearance, we changed it last minute.

I love Hudson and as well like the sounds of just Holt. They both sound very masculine to me.

Let go of the small stuff. You are making this hard on yourself. Just give it a few days and the right name will come to you. Put your favorite list on a white board and let your family and friends share what they like and dislike.

Enjoy!!!!
