Seeking Advice! - Crookston,MN

Im pregnant, not sure how far along, Im guessing 7-8 weeks. I have been seriously sick with morning sickness all day long. Everything I eat comes back up within 20 min. Ive tried everything for the sickness. Im also dizzy, blacking out and Ive fainted a few times. My doctor wants to see me tomarrow. Today Ive started experiencing sharp pains in my lower abdomen and Im hoping its just the uterus growing. This is my 3rd baby so Im not new to morning sickness, but it has never been this bad before! I can not handle this anymore and Im worried the baby isnt getting anything let alone me getting anything. I also had my blood sugar levels checked and it was 85 after eating...this seems low to me. Has anyone had morning sickness this bad? 24/7...i even wake up at night to run to the bathroom.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

I went to the doctor yesterday and he gave me a B6 shot in the tooshy...I do feel a little better, but food is still an enemy right now. He said i can get it every week until Im not sick anymore, but OMG did it burn and sting! I guess the pain is worth not puking constantly. I also have an ultrasound tomarrow :)

I found that constantly sucking on hard candy kept saliva in my mouth and helped ward off morning sickness.

Hi! Your blood sugar is normal. The normal range for an adult is 70-120 so you are right in the middle.
If you are fainting, you may be low on iron.

I had morning sickness 24/7 for 7 months with each child. I lost so much weight. I didn't want to take Zofran because 2 of my friends that took Zofran have kids with severe delays.
I took 1/2 a Unisom tablet with a vitamin B6 each night (recommended by my OB) and that helped alot. Also, more protein, Sea Bands bracelets that put pressure on an accupressure meridian in your wrist to reduce nausea, and ginger helps some people.

I feel for you. I threw up at least 9 times in a 24 hour period for months. Even seeing certain colors made me sick. Everytime I saw someone with a red shirt on, I ran to throw up. Weird!!!

Oh, and with my second pregnancy, eating a double cheeseburger, no onions, from McDonalds took away my nausea for exactly 3 hours. Unfortunately, I had many months to test that theory in!
I hope you feel better soon!

You poor thing! I didn't have morning sickness when I was pg with my daughter, but I really feel for you.

I would also visit with a Naturopathic Doctor. They are good at helping you find natural ways/foods to combat things such as morning sickness. It could be something as simple as your body being very depleted in something, and with you carrying a baby, the baby is getting everything from you, leaving your body with an imbalance.

I also agree with the poster who suggested it could be that your body is severely dehydrated. Most of us don't drink anywhere near enough water for what our bodies require. If you need to get water/fluids intravenously at first, I would. Then make sure to drink plenty of good, clean, pure water. Reverse-osmosis is the best; otherwise, artisan or spring water.

Good luck!

I am also on baby no. 3 and having terrible all day sickness. With baby 1 I wasn't sick at all, baby 2 I was sick on and off for 5 months and I could suck on a lemon drop and it would subside for an hour or so, with this one, it has been horrible! I'm on two prescription medications and still throw up and get the dizziness and black out. This started at 14 days (I thought I had the flu). I'm almost five months now and it's still bad. I was told that if I had it for five months with the last one, more than likely it will last this entire pregnancy. I lost 10 pounds in the first week and ended up having to get iv fluids. To give you some peace of mind, with regards to the stomach pains, that's what happened to me when I got dehydrated. So, my advice is to have them check to see if you are dehydrated and if you are, do the iv fluids. Once I got the iv fluids (I threw up when I was still hooked up to them) but it did make me feel better. My boss's wife had to go in once a week to get fluids...so there are some other options other than just drugs. Good luck!!

I was this way with both my kids. By the time I hit my second trimester (and some relief) I had lost 15 pounds both times. They prescribed me Zofran which worked, and I finally got some sleep and relief. Neither of my kids have any sort of delay from taking Zofran either. Each pregnancy is so different and unique, I wouldn't worry that it's a sign of anything bad. Your blood sugar may be on the lower side, but it's in the normal range. The dizzy and blacking out is probably just because you're not keeping anything down. The doctor will be able to run tests and determine the best course of action. In the meantime, don't worry! :)

I'm not sure if it would work for you, but many like crystallized ginger or pickled ginger for the nausea. I tried ginger tea but didn't like it at all.

i had morning sickness just as bad as yours when i was pregnant. my midwife tried a lot of different things, but the only thing that finally worked was Zofran. it's terribly expensive for a one-month supply, but it worked great. it's a small strawberry flavored pill that you let dissolve in your mouth and it lasts 24 hours, so you either take it first thing in the morning or before bed at night, and you're covered for the whole day. it helped me a lot. you might ask your doctor about it.

Call your doctor. While morning sickness is normal, there are times it could be a sign of something else. You never know which is the case (when it is as bad as you describe). My friend had what you are describing and it ended up being a molar pregnancy. I hope this is just normal but it would be best to be sure.

I completely understand. I was the same way with all 3 pregnancies, very, very ill. I used Zofran (anti-naseua med) to help keep food down. I lost weight with each one and all my babies were 8 pounders - hopefully that will make you feel better! They baby gets everything first so don't worry - they baby will be fine :) My third pregnancy I had those sharp pains a aout 10 or 12 weeks and went to the ER last year on New Years Day and they told me it ws just growing pains. I spent 5 hours hooked up to a toco and they sent me home. It is scary to think something is wrong. I understand how you feel, it is completely awful!!! Just remember that the end result is all worth it :)
