Seeking Activities in Holiday/Tarpon Area

I am looking for fun things to do with my two year old. She will be three next month and I just need activities or places to take her. We take her to the Sponge Docks, and we visited Howard Park till the beach closed. I live in Holiday just north of the Pinellas county border, inside Pasco. I was wondering if anyone could suggest anything. It doesn't have to be educational, but it would be nice, she is a very absorbent little girl and loves to learn.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Sorry everybody I lost my internet for a while. I moved out of Holiday and up to New Port Richey, but that's not far so I can still try and visit some of the places you all have sent me. I also want to add that I moved right off Green Key rd, which I did not know before will take me back to what most parents around here call the kiddie beach. It is a beach in the Gulf that is set up mostly for children. Due to the cold weather of late I haven't been yet, but one of the ladies from my church takes her daughters 2 and new born, there all the time.

Hi, Pasco County has a great library program. I live in Hudson and use the library up here. Holiday has one near by you on Mile Stretch I think. Anyway, my son is 26 months and loves storytime at the library. They read to the kids, dance, and play. It is once a week. The Holiday rec center is behind Aloha Gardens(I use to live there) and have different activities open to Holiday residents. Hope this helps... Good luck!

The Tarpon Springs Library has a great storytime; includes a puppet show, felt board and craft to go along with the theme. I think that it is on Thursday mornings.

Suncoast Gymnastics on Congress St. in New Port Richey has open play for pre-schoolers. It is pay as you go, no enrollment fees. I believe that it is on Tuesday & Friday mornings.

Hi B.!
Howard Park is still open and the kids can play on the playgrounds. The beach and causeway are closed. You might not know that there is another beach, Sunset Beach, just a few blocks away from Howard Park. If you take Florida Avenue North to the traffic light, and turn right (Gulf Road), all the way down, you find yourself in the parking lot. It's smaller than Howard Beach, but my kid likes it just as much!

Also check out the Tarpon Springs Library on Lemon Street. They have story time and a free craft on Saturdays, they have puzzles in the children's area, they sometimes even have free movies!

Good Luck!

Do you want to try a play date? I live very close to Holiday. I am in the Ridgewood subdivision in New Port Richey. I would love to have you and your daughter over to play with my 2 year old. It would be great adult interaction for us too!

Ditto Brooker Creek. The Environmental Education Center is great and it is close to you - the entrance is on Tarpon/Keystone Ave. 1-2 mi east of Eastlake Rd.

Hi B.,
Talk to Miss Joy at the Tarpon Springs Library. They have 2 or 3 different programs for children. Fun story times and finger plays. It runs all year but I'm not sure of days and times anymore since my oldest has outgrown it and the youngest isn't quite of age yet. But my oldest LOVED story time there I took him from 18 mos til he started Kindergarten he's going to be 8 next month. They also have holiday celebrations and other things for kids over the summer.

Hi B.,

Brooker Creek Preserve has wonderful programs for children and they are FREE. They have book time twice a month and there's a hands on museum that the little ones love. Check out their website.
