Seeking a Way to Print My Blog & Bind It as a Book

Like a lot of moms, I use a blog as a virtual baby book for my son. I post photos and anecdotes, and have done so since we were pregnant with him. Now that his first birthday has passed, I'd like to have it printed (in color) and bound as a book for us to cherish for years. (I'd like to do this yearly!) Aside from printing it myself and taking it to Kinko's or elsewhere to be bound, has anyone used a company (online or in-person) to do something of this nature? I Googled this, but came up dry. I'd REALLY appreciate your help! There HAS to be a company out there that can take blogs from Blogger and make them into a book... Thanks!

try www.cafepress.com They do book binding. Since they are internet based, they may do blogs. Just contact them and they are really good at getting back to you.

Hi, I'm a professional novelist so your request caught my eye. The absolute best way to do what you want to do is to copy and paste your blog into a word doc or pdf file. Then contact lulu.com This is a self publisher with NO upfront cost that there is no minimum order. Take the tutorial on the site, upload your newly created file, then publish it. Books take about two to four weeks to print and mail. SO, after you publish it, make it available only to you (lulu has this option. It's the only one I know that does) Order a copy, and it'll arrive in the mail.

For my books, I use Publish America, but this is really an actual publisher. They don't do the type of publishing you want. Lulu does good work and I have used them for memory books for my own children that I didn't want the world to read. It's cheap, well presented, and easy enough for a child to do.

Hope this helps.

I'd like to do that too! Another great idea: a baby album on DVD! Families are doing this for each birthday, as well as special occasions. We did it for our Christmas cards! Check out www.putitonfilm.com!

You can send a digital copy of the blog to Kinko's and they will print it and bind it. They are also adding many new features like designers in their stores, etc. Their website is http://www.fedex.com/us/officeprint/main/?link=1&lid=...

They created my Christmas cards in less than 8 hours which was a soft copy of a family photo and I got many compliments on it. My husband uses them for binding resumes for executive management positions as well.

Hi M., I am actually a Heritage Makers consultant and I think I can get it figured out. Visit my site at www.makingyourstory.com to take it look. What I am thinking is, we would copy and paste your blog into jpg's using Picture It or Adobe Photoshop (I have both). Call me (contact info on website) and we can chat about it. I have a studio in Plano that we could meet at to look at sample books if you would like. These books are hard bound and beautiful. I think you will really like them.

Hi, There:

My sister-in-law is a professional photographer, and used Blurb.com to have my niece's photos and text bound into a (hardback) book for the grandparents for Christmas. The book even has a dustjacket...it looks incredibly professional. A male friend of mine also used Blurb.com to have pics of himself and his girlfriend bound into a book for a Christmas gift.

You could give them a try!

Best,
LisaB

I'm sorry that I cannot help with your request but maybe you can help with mine...I've been thinking of starting something online to chronicle my pregnancy and then the baby's life. How did you get started?

A friend of mine is going to use blurb.com to do hers. They are not quite set up for blogger yet but will be soon. I downloaded their program to work on some other books and they look like they will turn out great.
