I'm desperatly in need of some pesonal socialisation... I'm a military wife and am fairly new to the area and know no one. I'd love to meet mommys who are more into their kids than the club sceen and will take any sugjestions for mommy groups! We are a single vehical family so I need something very close to home!

There was one mommy who asked about the age of my son... he's 7 months. I know that he isn't quite at the "play" age but he's not far from it. Where are you located? I am in the Kempsville area and won't have reliable transportation for a month or so, but I would be happy to set up a playdate. My son Timothy is 8 months old.

go to yahoogroups.com and look up a group in your area. type in your city and maybe mom and play date to get something near you. i'm in one and we go places together like malls beach parks each others houses and such. hope you find one you like.

There are lots of options in the area. MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) meets at Point Harbor Church on Taylor Road and at Nansemond River Baptist Church on Bridge Rd/Hwy 17. Check www.mops.org. Nansemond River has a group that meets the first & third Tuesday of each month and one that meets the first & third Friday of each month. We have a speaker or do a craft, have yummy food, and enjoy adult fellowship while our kids are cared for by wonderful MOPPETS workers!
As the weather gets warmer, I am sure you will meet lots of folks at the park as well! Good luck!

I am also a mommy in the Chesapeake area. I moved her about a year ago and have not become part of a mommy group exactly. I do hang out with some moms that are involved with Arbonne, my network marketing company.
I don't do much clubbing, two kids, home, hubby etc. If you would ever like to get together let me know. If we decide to do something that is hard for you to get to, I have a mom-mobile (mini van) and I'm sure we can make it work! If you have any luck with finding a group let me know!
Welcome to the area. I was transplanted here 22 years ago and love it. You should join the YMCA. There are alot of military wives and stay at home moms there. The "Y" offers alot of programs for you and the kids. I work at the "Y" on Taylor Road. If you have any questions let me know.
