Seeking a Great Pediatric Dentist for My Nearly 6 Year Old Son

Moms,
I am desperately seeking some recommendations for a *great*, tender, understanding, patient, kind pediatric dentist who respects and understands children with a fear of going to the dentist...I've tried several on the peninsula and my son still struggles with going...any guidance or recommendations would be SO appreciated (I have Delta Dental insurance through my employer if that helps :))

all my kids LOVE Dr Lau in San Mateo ###-###-####.

We've had some unnecessary work done on the teeth that was NOT needed from one pediatric dentist on the Peninsula.

When I was younger I saw him and these days my 12 year old niece and 5 year old nephew and my own 2 year old go to Dr. Ligh. He is great and so are all the people who work there. They are so wonderful with the kids and the office is so kid friendly that my daughter was comfortable as soon as she walked in the door!

My daughter with autism goes there. The hygienist and dentist are extra gentle and are trained extremely patient with everyone. The kids can watch video on the ceiling while their teeth are worked on. My daughter was strapped before in another pedi-dentist office, but never needed here, she is not afraid to come to this office.

She is great. I have heard other parents say that she got their fearful child to relax and have a little fun to. They will go to her but not others. I dont have the fearful child, so I can only say what I have heard in that realm. If it helps she als works with special needs children in her office.

Hope this helps

I have a wonderful, caring Pediatric dentist. Her name is Jacqueline Dela Rosa ###-###-####. Her office is at 4867 Mission Street in SF. I struggled finding someone that is friendly, efficient, and trustworthy. She has cartoons playing to help relax the kids. She also talks to them and explains what will happen. She'll even let them hold some tools to make them more familiar with what's happening. She definitly cares about each child. She graduated from UCSF and is very knowledgable.

We moved to Palo Alto almost 2 years ago from Colorado where we didn't have a great pediatric dentist and my now 9 year old hated going. Now we have a great one and my son says he loves going to the dentist.

Dr Adams is his partner and he is supposed to be a well renowned dentist.

We have a WONDERFUL pedi dentist in San Bruno named Joann Toy, DDM. She makes it so easy and my sons loves going there. The kids are given really cute sunglasses to wear while their teeth are cleaned and they watch cartoons on the ceiling. I highly reccommend her office! They run on time too which is really nice.
