"Seeking a Great GP ASAP - HELP!!!"
Hi there, we just moved here from CA 6 weeks ago. I am looking
for a great GP and a great Ped. We live in Old Leawood, but will consider
anything within a 10-15 minute drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I would recommend Dr. Mellick at Pediatric Partners near Overland Park Regional Hospital (435 & Quivira). She is wonderful and has a few kids of her own. She not only looks at your child, but gives you a little parenting advice here and there in a manner in which you don't even notice she's really teaching you anything (not preachy). The nurses are always nice when I bug them for advice over the phone too. It's a great office.

Welcome to Leawood. I moved here exactly a year ago from San Diego, CA. I have been just were you are! What a change! If you need any advise feel free to email me. I have a 6, 4, 3, and 1 year old. I also would highly recommend Dr. Wichman at Pediatric Care Specialists. Best of Luck! Hope the mosquitos aren't bad this year. I was ready to move back after being bitten up last summer. :)

Great pediatrician is Deborah Winburn at Johnson County Pediatrics in the Antioch Hills building next to Shawnee Mission medical center. She is the best and we love her, all my friends see her as well. I don't have anyone for a GP though. Good luck!

Dr. Wichman is a fantastic pediatrician ###-###-#### - Pediatric Care Specialists in the doctor's building in the parking lot at St. Luke's South Hospital. That's off 127th and Metcalf which is in southern Overland Park - easily within 10-15 minutes from Leawood. In the doctor's offices within St. Luke's South Hospital, there's Family Health Group ###-###-#### - and they have several good GP doctors there.

Pediatric Associates on the Plaza. Big group with great docs you can see any time. They are available on weekends and nights for office visits. ###-###-####
Dr. Cynthia Glass at Emcompass Medical at 103rd & Wornall is a good GP.

We go to Pediatric Partners near Overland Park Medical Center (Quivira and 435) and highly recommend them. We love all the doctors there, but mainly see Dr. Blum. They are very responsive, we can get in at any time, and have had great experiences with them.
My own GP is Dr. Munger at Saint Luke's South, and I really like him. He takes his time and explains everything. I never feel rushed. In the last few years, he's started doing mainly same day appts, so it can be hard to get an appt a few days out, or an appt at a particular time, but it really hasn't been much of a problem. It is nice to be able to get in the same day though.
