I am looking for a cloth diapering service that serves the Van Nuys area. The only thing I've found is Dy-Dee in Pasadena. Any other suggestions? DOes anyone use them?

What can I do next?

Hi V.,

I live in Valley Glen, (Van Nuys) & I use Dy-Dee. They are the best! I use the 626 # in Pasadena, with my ?'s. & I usually speak with the same woman. They have been really great. I highly recommend them. Please contact me if you have any other questions. Dy- Dee fits my bill! I have used them now for 4 months.

All the best,
C.

We use Dy-Dee and absolutely love them! We live in Simi Valley. Our baby is 3 months old, and sleeps on her side. She rarely leaks. We primarily use the proraps Dy-Dee sells. Our baby also seems to really prefer the cloth over the disposable. We only use disposable when we're going to be out for a while.

With my first child, I experienced the same thing Mona did. The diapers worked reasonably well until my child started rolling over. Then urine started leaking out the sides. I tried various ways of folding the diaper and even called the company for advice, but never got the diapers to work effectively after my child turned 3 months old.

I now use paper (disposable) diapers on both my children.

I am currently using Dy-Dee Diaper service and i love them ( i live in Burbank). They are very prompt and easy to order or change sizes of diapers. It is a bit difficult to fold when your little one is wailing. I use disposable diapers at night, that way she doesn't feel the dampness so much. I really believe that it is best for her ( she has only gotten a few diaper rashes and thats with using disposable diapers) and i believe i am helping out mother earth.

Hi,

I'm in Sherman Oaks and using Dy Dee right now (for 3 months)and Love them to death. I use the Bumkin wraps (they don't sell them but you can get them at CottonBabies.com) and not the prowrap that Dy Dee sells. I found the Prowraps to be too bulky and the velcro much too loud. Folding is not a problem when using the Bumkins. I suggest folding the diaper while the baby is laying on it with the wrap below. I get a tight and leak proof fold each time. The bumkin wrap also has a pouch in front to tuck the diaper into so that the baby doesn't feel all of the wetness and the diaper stays in place.
Dy Dee's customer service is top notch and the the diapers don't stink up the house since they have been treated with a "bacteriastat" to reduce the stinkage. I can't imagine you not liking their service.

I used Dy-Dee a few years back and was very happy with their service. They picked up the dirty diapers on time, dropped off the amount I had requested, always had very clean diapers, etc. I was happy with the service but to be honest, I almost had a breakdown because I could never quite figure out how to fold them correctly. And other moms using cloth diapers thought it was so easy but I never did it right and they would leak all the time. Esp at night. So I switched to disposable after a couple of months.

Hi V.,

I know you asked this questions a LONG time ago, but thought I might answer anyway. I live in Sherman Oaks and use Blessed Bums. They are a little more, like $1 per week, than Dy-Dee but use only organic, which I love! The diaper covers are super cute too! Very easy and fun.

I used Dydee for the first two months. They were prompt, courteous, etc. Their diapers are thick and high quality. Do you have some reason for not using them? I live in Lake Balboa, which used to be part of Van Nuys. I now use my own cloth. (by the way, I purchased a dozen of their diapers to supplement my stock and am quite happy with them.)
