You say it is either pumpkin or walnut, due to the color of it I wonder if maybe it is rust? If it is, it won't come out with regular cleaners, but if you google how to get rust out of clothes, there are several good sites. Some say citric acid that is in some regular cleaners, cream of tartar, stuff you may already have. Let us know what worked for you!

I swear by SHOUT, Tide and Trader Joe's OxiBrite (like Oxiclean). Also all-fabric bleach if I need it. The enzyme-type detergents (Biz for instance) are very helpful for stubborn stains. Soaking and repeated washings are helpful after scrubbing in the Shout or a combination of that and the other stuff with an old toothbrush. Sometimes I use peroxide too. Some things are very stubborn, aren't they?
Good luck!

I don't know if it is a grease-like stain, but if it is, Lestoil is awesome at taking those out. You just rub it on (it is kind of smelly, but the scent dissipates after drying) and wash like normal.
