Second Pregnancy Showing...

I am currently 5 weeks prego with my second child. I was just curious as to when most of you all started showing on your second. Some of my close friends started showing at only 10weeks and others not until 5 months...

What can I do next?

Hey C.! Congrats on the second baby! Babies are so fun! I have Three girls all under the age of 4 and my youngest is 1 month. I would say that it all depends...I began showing with my first child at 14 weeks, with my second child it was probably closer to 20 weeks and with this last pregnancy I think I was closer to 25 weeks pregnant before others really began to see and really for me to see. It could be that with this last one I still hadn't lost all of my baby weight before I got pregnant...I hope this helps! Best of luck with this pregnancy!

After the first one I started showing earlier, too ... and now I always look about 3 months pregnant! Is there is a possibility you might be off on the dates?

I'm currently pregnant with my second child and didn't start showing til almost 5 months!! Everyone I talked to told me I would start showing the minute I found out I was pregnant--apparently that's not totally true! Congrats on the pregnancy!!

C., I also have two children 5 years apart. With my second, I also started pooching at 5 weeks. It wasn't a huge, noticeable difference, but it was there. I was told by my doctor that it was because my abdominal muscles were already prepared to handle the size of the baby. I grew much slower (tummy-wise) the second time. From other friends, same thing happened after the first pregnancy. If you waited five years, then I hope you are as excited as we were. Congratulations!

If this is your second child then you should know better than to guage yourself by others....With my first I was wearing regular clothes to the delivery room. With the second, I didn't start showing until 7 1/2 months

After my first, I started showing around 8 weeks. When you get pregnant, all pooch that you have and normally suck/hold in a little (especially what we get from our previous pregnancies), can't be sucked/held in anymore. That's why we start "showing" earlier with 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc pregnancies. The baby itself isn't bigger, but there's also a little more "womb room" in there after the 1st. I was showing in NO time with #4.

Most of my friends (and me, too!) started showing earlier with our second pregnancy. I didn't show until 5 months with my first pregnancy, but felt like I showed REALLY early with my second (can't remember exactly how many weeks I was, but I'm pretty sure it was in my first trimester!). Congrats!
