Seat for Baby at the Beach?!?!

I am thinking ahead to this summer at the beach. My youngest daughter will be about 8months and I am looking for a seat that I can bring to the beach with me on our vacation. I want something that I can put her in at the waters edge. Ideally the seat would allow her to put her feet in the sand and water; as well as, have a spot which I can screw on an umbrella to keep her protected from the sun. My mom had a little metal seat that she used for me and said I LOVED it. I can't find anything like it. Any suggestions?

What can I do next?

i would try the bumbo. It is plactic so the water should not be an issue, but depending how big she is it my be too small. good luck

What about a bumbo? I think they would be perfect perfect for the beach. Low enough to the ground, but when she's in it , she's in it! The other alternative is a little beach chair backpack chair. I just bought one for my 2 year old at the beach. Got it at Christmas Tree Shops for $5.00.

Good Luck,

A bumbo seat would be good, they can get wet and are very secure!

she may be to small for this but I purchased a little beach chair at wal-mart that has an umbrella attached to it. I have been using it for my son since he was 3 and he will be 6 this year. I think they still sell them (they did have them last year) in the beach/patio furniture section. I also got a little folding table that is the perfect hight to put next to the chair for drinks & snacks the chair is really low to the ground and sets up just like the adult beach chairs.

I didn't read other responses so you may have this, but the bumbo would be perfect it cleans up so easily. This may seem strange but when my son was little we brought his little tub for a pool to keep him cool. He loved the water when he was little and often it was the only thing he did longer then 10 minutes w/o crying. Needless to say his bath traveled on many weekends away.

Hi A.,

I would recommend your lap. You'll be aware if she tips over. I'd hate to have you look away while she's leaning forward to put her hands in the water and have her end up face down in the water.
