Searching for a Pre-K Program for My 41/2 YO Son
My son will be 5 in November. I am looking for a program or a school in Folsom that works specifically for these kids. I am not going to send him to Kindergarten because he is not emotionally ready. Does anyone know of any kind of program that Sacramento Co. or folsom has for these kids? Thanks in advance.

We're also a fan of Phoenix Schools. Our son is in their pre-k program and has really thrived at the school. Definitely look into their Folsom campus.

Phoenix School in Folsom off of Willard has a Jr. Kindergarten program that sounds perfect for your son! My daughter is starting Kindergarten there this year and has been attending the summer camp there, we love it.

You should try looking in the Public School System. A School in El Dorado County offer a Preppy K program. Since I live in El Dorado Hills and work for the County Office of Education, I am not familiar with schools down the hill. I am sure they must be available in Folsom or somewhere near by as many preschool programs are working with Kindergarden programs to help ease the transition and being developmentally ready is definitely one of the hot topics. You could also try calling the County Office of Education in Sacramento County. Good luck.

Phoenix School on Willard has a good program.
Ask to be placed in Joy Danielson's class! She's absolutely fantastic!

My children attend St. John Vianney (Catholic School, although we are not Catholic) in Rancho Cordova and they have a "Transitional Kindergarten" class. Maybe you should check to see if any of the catholic schools in Folsom offer the same program. Good Luck!

Hi L.,
I sent my son the Pheonix in Fair Oaks but I know there is a Folsom campus. Check them out. I met their owner years ago and believe in their philosophy. They are private pricey but affordable. They interact with the kids constantly have great activities and teachers, schedules, no television - ever. Chec them out. I am sure you will be impressed.
Good Luck!

There is one in Orangevale, across the river from Folsom, that has a class for that age group. I think it is called Small Wonders (or soemthing like that) and was recommended to me by another preschool teacher.
