Hi Moms,
We are headed to Sea World for a day in San Antonio. My 4, almost 5, year old wants to feed the fish. I've heard we need to get there early and check the schedule for that day. He is 46 inches tall so won't be able to ride many of the rides. Any other suggestions as we embark on a fun day of adventure?!

Thanks for your help!
J.

My daughter (6) & I did the Penguin Encounter and loved it. It was definitely worth the money as you got to pet the penguin, learn the science about their habitat, see real penguin eggs, touch feathers and get a 5/7 picture for each person. Plus, the time in the air conditioning & in the outer portion of their habitat was great. The little splash park is good to run through for a quick cool off. At 46 inches he will be tall enough to ride Shamu Express, Texas Splashdown, Journey to Atlantis and Rio Loco. All the shows are great but the dolphin show is our favorite. The Shamu show during the day differs from the one at night so catch both. We sat in the middle portion just out of the splash zone and then as soon as it was over went up and talked to the trainer after the show (8 times in 3 days). It was a such a neat thing for them to spend 5-10 minutes talking ot my daughter & answering her questions. The water ski show is very neat and is also shaded. Also, the meal deal for the day for myself was good & my daughter just shared with me. The BBQ restaurant near Shamu theatre is good & they will give you ice water for free at all restaurants. I just took two thermos bottles with me. We stayed at the brand new Marriott Courtyard Westover Hills that had indoor/outdoor swimming pool, swim up bar, spray area and restaurant with 3 meals a day & snacks. The free shuttle to Sea World also saved us a lot of time and money. We had a blast!

there is so much to do at sea world. there are the shamu shows and other dolphin shows, the kiddie area where they can get wet and kiddie riddie rides also the water park. we usually spend the 1st 1/2 of the day at the water park before the lines to get in are too long then the remainder of the day doing the shows and other exhibits. just make sure you get out of the water in time to catch some shows. check out the adventures online. there is tons to do!

Make sure to have swimsuits for the attached waterpark. We are going next week. We went in March, and my boys loved it. There's an Elmo show that was great for my 3 yr old. Have a blast!! They have strollers to rent too, if you don't want to take one.

Make sure to get schedules of all the shows so you wont miss any. We got to feed the dolphins but be sure to get in line early because they only let so many people in. The have an area of rides that are smaller for younger kids that my 3 year old went on. I know they have a water area so I would also take a swimsuit. We have gone a few times and have always enjoyed it.
