Montessori Language Academy in Forest Park is the best in the western suburbs! My friend's kids all went there, and their kids are extremely smart!

you might want to look the list of schools display in the American Montessori Society website http://www.amshq.org/schls/il.html
My daughter attended ParkView Montessori on Irving Park and LakeShore.
I loved my daughter's teacher, can't say much about the school administrators or director.
I had a great experience, but again it was more of a "revolving door" school with very little parental involvement.
Hopes this helps!

I absolutely love my daughter's montessori: Chicago Montessori. Right now she's in the half day program, but they also offer full day, and will be expanding from just a preschool to a full elementary starting in the fall (right now it's just two classrooms). Her teacher is wonderful and the director is great; they're super helpful, involved and passionate about making the school work, and I've really gotten to know/like a lot of the other parents. There's a fair amount of parental involvement which I've really enjoyed, and I like the smallish feel it has (so that even the teachers in the other classroom still know who my daughter is). I would definitely recommend checking it out. It's approx. at Ashland/Montrose on the north side.
Hope that helps!

My son attends Montessori Academy of Chicago in the West Loop (Randolph and Ada) and it is a wonderful school. He started at 3 years old at another Montessori school in Beverly, but he was not developing very well there. I and another parent began to research out new schools and this little jewel fell in our laps. My son is in the 2nd grade and there are 10 children in his class w/ 2 assistants. They have done a remarkable job with my son and he has progressed in such a wonderful way. His teacher is dedicated and very skilled at engaging the children and they absolutely adore her. I love the community at large and the parents are involved with the children's activities and outside events. This is a place that we have come to love and appreciate as a safe place to leave our child and trust he is getting all he needs. The staff members are all well trained and school is beautiful and very green. Good Luck!
