I have always had problems with scaring. I taken the kids ice skating and got the skin rubbed off my shin it's about 1.5 in long and 1/2 in wide.
It doesn't matter if it's even just like a finger nail scrape that just turns red it will turn white and never get color back it doesn't even have to blead!
Is there anything I can do? I don't want a big scar right on the front of my leg? I have been keeping it cover with a bandaid and using alot of neosporen.
It's almost like any scrape at all acts like an eraser to the pigment in my skin?
any sudgestion would be great!

What can I do next?

Hello V.,
This is a medication that I used to reduse scar appearences, it is called Maderma. I know Walmart carries it because that is where I bought it from. I'm sure like a Walgreens or Rite-Aid might carry it. It doesn't get rid of the scar completly but it help with fading it. Hope this helped! Good Luck!!

After having my csection my Ob recommended vitamin E oil. After the intial healing I rubbed it on twice a day and the scar is barely visible. It's just about mosturizing the area which the oil works well. I had dry patches on my knees from constantly being on the floor with my children and I started using vaseline on them and they turned an ugly brown color just where I had put the vaseline at. I went to my mom in laws and she spotted it right away and knew what I had put on there. A little freaky that she knew but the point is stay away from the vaseline. Good Luck!

Well since you said scrapes take away pigment I'm going to assume you are fair skinned. You can be genetically predissposed to scarring. When you get a scrape your body sends out a signal to your body to send collagen and repair that scrape wound whatever. Depending on you make up it can be silvery, brown, or pink.
tea tree oil is super miraculous in australia they give it to customer after they get piercings. It cures like any skin problem and will help wounds. I use it on acne.
On light skin you can probably make it less noticeble with a tan in a can. I like netrogena.
Ester C powder from health food stores mixed into your lotion will make a dark scar disapear. Just mix and apply

Tons of sun block will keep it from getting darker.

Mederma works great, it can be a little pricy, but it works. Also sti-vectin which is now the leading wrinkle cream, was created for scars originally and it is suppose to work really well. If you use raw honey, that has had nothing done to it, it will prevent the scarring and it is relatively cheap and you can get quite a bit.

Hi V.,

I too scare all the time. I call them my battle scars. I use Maderma from Walmart. This helps fade the scar. Depending how deep it is some of it will not disappear but it will atleast not be so noticeable. Congrats on your upcoming nuptials. Many happy years.
