Scaley Diaper Rash

When I had my daughter the hospital gave me a lotion that you can buy at almost any store but it works wonders for that sort of thing. It is call EUCERIN. It is great for diaper rash, exizma, dry skin in general.

Balmex is amazing when my son gets a rash I put balmex and it's better by the next diaper change. 10x better then any other product i've used. You can get it at Riteaid.

This may sound different , but I have a two years old little girl and from day one I tried everything on the market and some bye doctor's one thing I found that worked all the time was regular Crisco (THE BAKING OIL THAT COME IN THE BIG TUB)my little one has not had one really bad rash .She was a few months old then and a two is doing well. Try it you have noting to lose only a happy baby to gain.

I know this sounds a little odd, but if you are breast-feeding, try using a little brast milk on it. I was told that 3 babies ago, and never tried it because it seemed too tree-hugger, alternative, & "iffy." But when I read up, it makes perfect sense. The white blood cells and "live tissue" of immunity -and-healing components really help. The only thing I was apprehensive of was using breast milk if there was a bacteria problem because of the lactose (sugar). It worked super well for us.

Another huge thing I learned by 3rd child is that baby wipes sting like crazy on rashy or broken skin. I never put it together until, again, 3rd child. She's more fair and gets drug all around with us, so she's more prone to rashes. When I wiped, she cried. (I dare you to test one on a scrape or cut or rash of your own. We ride mountain bikes, and I get scraped up. I tried a wipe to gently wipe off debris and it stung WAY more than a dry cloth. And it was Huggise "Natural Care".) I finally just bought some baby washcloths that I use when I see a rash form. I just put warm water on, then toss in the laundry when I'm done.

And lastly, on healthy skin I would use Lanolin as a preventative layer to water-urine-acidity-proof her underside so a rash wouldn't get a chance to form (Lanolin is the organic breastfeeding tube that no one ever goes thru). I hear people swear by Butt Paste, too for that, but I think it might be zinc or petroleum based & is less natural.

You might want to bathe her in Quaker Oats. Sounds strange but it really works women in my family have been doing this for many generations. Just put some oats in warm bath water and let her sit in it. Also put some Oats in a bowl add some warm water mush until you make the oatmeal and then add that to her bottom and put her diaper back on. It will heal anything, works for all kinds of skin problems including burns, excema(SP),dry skin, and all kinds of irritated skin.

I use Aquaphor for my daughters bottom. It clears up any redness in hours and it is very mosturizing. It is a little expensive but last a long time and is well worth it!

try desitin creamy.... it was recommended to me when my son was a baby by a pharmacisit because he rashes were so bad he used to have to used nystatin after every diaper change and i had run out... so anyway it worked incredibly well and i never had to get a prescription or diaper rash again... i hope this helps..

I had tried every single diaper rash cream out there for my daughter. The one that I found works the best and clears up the fastest is called.. now dont laugh.. Dr Boudreaux's butt cream. I found it at Walmart, and when my daughter was in diapers I never left home without it.. Hope that helps out.

Somebody else already said it, but I will second it: Dr Beaudreaux Butt Cream! It is the best thing ever. It is sold at Wal-Mart, is relatively cheap, a littl goes a long way and it WORKS! Good luck.

After you give her bath, don't forget to rub her down with lotion. What I did, I would put a little of baby powder in there diaper and that would help there skin to get back to normal.

go to www.lush.com and get Ultra Bland; or go to a LUSH store if you have one near you....if in Hawaii- there is one at Ala Moana. It worked wonders on my son's awful diaper rash! Totally natural....and it's made for your face, so it is obviously gentle. That is the only stuff that worked, after trying Desitin, Balmex, A & D ointment...you name it! Good luck!

When my daughter was a newborn she had a bad diaper rash and nothing worked on it. The doctor told me to soak her bottom in the tub of warm water for 5-10 minutes twice a day it worked like a champ it cleared up in a matter of a few days. I hope this helps. Good Luck

Make sure she is off citrus fruit juices. The high acid will make it worse. As far as a cream I used an aloe cream that my company makes and it worked great on my son. You can get it at www.herbalmom.com

Also, make sure she is getting enough water in her system to dilute and flush.

My son gets really bad diaper rash too and once even had Strep on his butt which did require a prescription, or it could be a yeast infection. Try giving her a bath with warm water and baking soda from the waist down, it really helps to soothe the skin, and it may need to be checked if it doesnt go away to make sure it isnt something worse. Hi C., I have never used save for dia[er rash, I always used cornstarch, plain cornstarch, it doesn't leave scaly bottoms and it keeps the moisture from attaching itself to the child. it was given to me as an old remedy before they had powder for babies back in the olden days.it works really great, and it keeps themvery cool as well. so hope this helps a little. it has worked great for all my kids,I have 4 and they are older now,*Ü*

sounds like yeast, my son had this once when he was a baby, the doctor prescribed a cream to use for yeast & it cleared it up immediately!!

i agree with the olive oil suggestion. also breastmilk helps everything!

Try baths in the morning with no soap just a 1/4 cup of baking soda in luke warm water just to give the over night pee a good wash off and then naked time for half hour or longer if you can handle it. Then use bagbalm it's petrolium and lanolin. Works great for any kind of dry skin. Great to keep away diaper rash and for minor rash. Then more naked time at night after another bath. And baby wipes can cause iritation too so I use baby washcloths with water only when my son is having skin problems.

I know this sounds weird but brown some flour in a skillet, let cool. Put petrolium jelly on her bottom and sprinkle a good portion of the flour to her bottom. When my son was teething he got diaper rash really bad and this helped.

aquaphor and vaseline (and mineral oil) are not good at all because they are both petroleum-based, which does dry out the skin (draws moisture to the surface, but ultimately strips the skin of moisture).

i used coconut oil and olive oil too, when i was a nanny.

also, in cases like that we would just leave an open cloth diaper loosely wrapped around baby, to get air in there and speed healing.

Its probably scaley because your baby's bottom has been red and irritated for a bit, so its just healing itself right now, which is totally normal. But if it does not heal over the next couple of days I would try a different diaper rash formula. Because I wouldnt put a moisturizer in that area, because its a very sensitive area. have you tried vitamins a&d skin protectant ointment? its a generic cream that you can get in the baby aisle at rite aide pharmacy. it works for my princess. make sure that her skin is ok (yes doc's appt) before you add anything to her bottom.

if the rash isn't red and irritated anymore, olive oil or coconut oil work great. . .

My grandmother and great aunt always tell me that vaseline cures everyting. I know it is greasy and gets on everything but low and behold they are right. My 11 month old son was beginning to get a rash. I saturated his bottom with vaseline one night and the next morning he was good as new.

Diaper Rash usually happen because not enough air and a lot of moist.
Treat it with desitin and when change the diaper always put Vaseline around the genital and bottom as protection barrel.
none of my babies have suffer from rashes because I always do that and when I see a little redness like getting rash I put desitin it disappear immediately.
I buy lots of wipes in sans club but I don’t use it often I always wash her vulva with fresh water and soap wipes irritates babies p****** p**** if is used often.
Do this always and you won’t have that problem with rashes anymore.
