Safe BOOSTER SEAT Advice Needed

I'm looking for a booster seat I can use for my 4yo child. I want it to be safe and would prefer a 5-point harness. Anyone out there have a safe seat that they love?

We have a Britax Marathon and love it. One car has Latch, one doesn't. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Mel.

What can I do next?

We have the same 2 seats as Karen - the Safeguard Go and the Sunshine Kids Radian. My daughter finds the Radian more comfortable, but she's finally gotten used to the Safeguard as well (at first she didn't like that it's lower than a carseat and also it's apparently not as cushioned on the bottom, so she was more sensitive to her coat being bunched under her rear and the like - we've fixed that now). THe Safeguard is super light and portable and I find it easier to deal with, but it does require lower and top latch (The back of the seat is just flexible fabric with a rigid head brace and then rigid seat).

I just got the Saguard "Go" booster and L-O-V-E it. (I got it on sale for $165) It does require latch, but the flexible design lets you recline the seat while they nap, and booster latches into the car vs. just a belt strap. Also the back totally comes off leaving the booster seat latched in when they are big enough for that.

This is a great website too! I also have the Sunshine Kids Radian and love that one too, but would buy the Safeguard if my child were older.

M.,

SO GLAD you mean a HARNESSED BOOSTER SEAT - so many parents are putting their little 4 year olds in boosters too early.....

Either Graco Nautilus...you can use the 5p harness until child outgrows the harness/weight should make it to 5 or 6, Britax Regent (has very high weight 80 lbs and high harness slots) or the new Britax Frontier (also high weight and then turns into a high back booster) it is coming out soon, someone mentioned the Safeguard Go..my friends daughter and others I've heard find it uncomfortable...I have the Apex 65 but don't love it, it needs high seat backs and has short straps, it was 99.00 and is used as a spare (you get what you pay for)...personally I would get the Nautilus or Frontier but luckily my almost 5 year old is still fitting great in her Marathon. I've heard from some Britax devotees that the Nautilus does pretty well but the straps aren't twist proof like the Britax ones...the Frontier looks great and has lots of cover choice too and is FAA approved.

Just a suggestion--have your daughter actually sit in the car seat before you buy it. Even if it's just on the floor at the store. Every kid's legs and back are different and hit the seat at different spots...and have different amounts of cushioning.
