Rosacea Skin Problems

I have had a problem with rosacea for over three years. It got pretty bad when I was pregnant with my first son and recently again when I got pregnant with my second son. It also runs in my family so I was genetically predestined to have it I guess!
I have tried many products for acne, sensitive skint, etc. since I was not officially diagnosed with it until this year. My dermatologist suggested a couple of products, like a wash and some pills but they are very expensive (over $100 each). I would love to get some suggestions from all Moms who have dealt with this. Any products, treatments, etc. that might have worked for you that you would recommend would be greatly appreciated!!

What can I do next?

A., I hope you eventually find something that works, i don't have rosacea but the skin on my cheeks and nose is usually pretty red, and i know it can be frustrating. I tried some lotion from mary kay, it is for evening your skin tone, which has helped me. I don't know if this would help you at all but i thought it was worth mentioning, it isn't badly priced. I hope everything works out. ~B.

I have a great product called Bright Ideas. If you want to talk more about it feel free to email me back. You can also view it at www.ornelas.ltdteam.com and the password is beauty. Click the skin care link and look for Bright Ideas. I also have a product called Hair, Skin and Nails which can be viewed on this site too but the password is "health" and look under vitamins/supplements. Good luck on your search. T.

Hi A.,
I don't know if this will help because I don't have rosacea.
I do have acne prone skin. I had a rash on my face about a month ago. I remembered something from when I was researching products for my son's eczema. It is called neem. It is a plant grown in India & is used in soaps, creams & lotions. I looked it up on Amazon.com & came across a cream called Neemaura. It is organic. After 2-3 days of use the rash went away completely. I used it on my 3 mo. old & 2 yr old for their eczema & it went away within 2 days. Now when I see the slightest bit of eczema on my little ones I put some on right away & the eczema is gone in less than 24 hrs. I still use the cream daily on my face & have not had any acne or rashes since. I told my cousin (who suffers from eczema) about the cream. She ordered the lotion & just raves about it. She bought some for her friends son too.

Hi A.! I have rosacea, also. Several years ago it was pretty bad, but now I have it almost completely under control. I don't even use my prescription any more. It was at its worst when I was pregnant and when my son was little.

Wash only with Cetaphil or equivalent. Target makes a facial cleanser that's the same thing only cheaper. Have your derm prescribe something like Metrolotion for you, especially if you have insurance. It lasts a long time and is well worth it. Wear your sunscreen every single day no matter what the weather (Neutrogena Healthy Defense Moisturizer spf 30 or 45 rocks--it's non-greasy and won't further irritate your skin) and try to cover up when it's dry/windy/cold outside. Be careful about the makeup you use. Almay works for me because it's hypoallergenic.

Keep a diary of what you eat and do and see what triggers your rosacea. It can be completely different things for different people, and might even be something you never thought of. For me, it's yogurt, red wine, hot showers, and hot tea. Unfortunately, those are some of my favorite things. :) Once you find out your triggers, avoid them.

Good luck!

Hi A.,
I know your request is dated back in 2007 but I just read it and want to share with you that I am a consultant for a company that sales anti-aging products but are also used for problems like acne-prone, rosacia, sun spots etc. I'm sure you have spent much money trying to find the right product. Our cleansers are sulfate free (which is huge) we have wonderful moisturizers and much more. The product that came to my heart to share was our Drama Free which is a repair serum that has superoxide dismutase in it which is a cell-energizing antioxidant known for its powerful anti-inflammatory properties. All that to say it soaks into the birthlayer of your skin and begins to repair and rebuild. I just wanted to share because I know it can be an awful feeling when our face doesn't feel right. PLease don't feel pressured just wanted to share with you.
Blessings,
D.

Arbonne International's products are great for treating rosacea and many other skin problems/issues.
Using Arbonne's Baby Care Hair and Body Wash and the Intelligence Skin Conditioning Oil on the red spots everyday has helped clients tremendously.
I'd be happy to send some additional information as well as before and after pictures if you're interested.

Good luck!
