Rolling over and Sitting Up

Hi I was just wondering I have an 11 week old baby girl it has been 4 years since I had a baby and wanted to know how old your babies were when they started to roll over from tummy to back and vise versa and how old they were when they were able to sit up so you could put them in a walker or exersaucer.. thanks

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Well it seems she has figured out how to go from her belly to her back she is only 11 weeks that is why I was wondering but she still cannot sit up by herself but in due time she will thanks for all your responses they were very helpful.

Hi M.!

My kids both did these things early, but everyone develops at their own pace. Yours should be doing these milestones soon! She can roll from tummy to back any time now--give herlots of floor time, this will also tier her out for bed. As for back to tummy, this is trickier, about 4 months on average. Sitting can happen anywhere from 4-7 months, again give her lots of floor time.

She will grow so fast, you'll wish her a new born again:)Enjoy every minute!!!

Hello M.! My son was 6months old when he figured out how to roll from back to bell but from belly to back he was about 7months old. He starting to sit up at 9months. My daughter was about the same. Hope that helps. Congrats on the new baby girl.

Hi M.,

My son was about 5 months when he rolled and 8 when he sat up.

M.

My kids both went back to stomach right around 3-months (I remember because it happened right before I had to go back to work) but not stomach to back for another couple of months. They started using the exersaucer between 4 and 5 months, when they had excellent head control. Sitting up on their own wasn't until about 6-months or so. But remember, all babies are different - some are earlier, some are later.

the recommended age for an exersaucer is 5 months.
