Mr Clean magic eraser - one of my few cleaning products beyond vinegar and baking soda.

Tip - squeegee the sides of the tub after every use (not just shower walls). Really cuts down on cleaning and mildew. Also, don't use too many "body wash" products - they really cling to the tub and make it really dirty much quicker.

I use Comet and a scrubber pad. You have to scrub, but it works. I saw some women recommended Scrubbing Bubbles, but I was never really impressed with it. I have to scrub less with Comet.

What would be perfect for that would be Scrubbing Bubbles, it comes in a spray can with a green top. It's perfect. I have a 10 year old little brother that plays football and our bathtub gets pretty disgusting, but if you spray that on the ring and let it sit for about a good 5-10 minutes and then sort of wipe and rinse it will be J. like new again :) (it also depends on how severe the stain is) Good Luck!

HI There,
I use the scrubbing bubbles, too, but Soft Scrub (the one labeled "with bleach") works great, too.

Good luck!

I do use the Shaklee products as well for safety reasons with my children. However, I have keep my old cleaners (some with bleach) to use every once in a while because sometimes I feel like it doesn't do the best job getting the soap scum off. I would second the notion above about using baking soda. Shaklee products can be a bit pricy and there are clean/environmentally safe options out there that are much cheaper (just google it!). I have seen Emily T. a number of times post her information out there to direct people to her website...I'm sure her intentions are well, but I would prefer not to have someone's business pushed SO much on the website. There are more appropriate places on this website to do this other than posts.

I clean houses and I find wiping it with any kind of bath cleaner or fantastic or 409 with a sponge that has a "scrubby" side works best. Don't have the sponge too wet. If you only have paper towels, the drier, the better. Keep getting new ones that aren't saturated with the cleaner.

Hi Kelly, I use a product called Scour Off by Shaklee. It is non-toxic so is safe for you & your family. It's a pink paste that you spread on the tub and scrub off. I happen to use Shaklee's scrubbing sponge, because it cuts down on the elbow grease, but you can use any scrubby sponge. It works just great! Now, don't turn me in when I tell you where you can get this - I do happen to be a Shaklee distributor, but I answered you to tell you about a safe "Green" solution to your problem that really works. If you choose to buy something else suggested by somebody else, that is your choice; but don't shoot the messenger! You can either go to my website www.emilytaft.com and put "Scour Off" in the search box at the upper right and order it yourself to be delivered right to your door; or, if you are near me (I live in Georgetown), I would be happy to deliver it to you. Your issue that you have asked for help with is a dingy gray tub, and the "Scour Off" will take care of your problem if you choose to use it. Best Wishes. E. Taft

I would not using anything with bleach - it's worse than the ring, for the environment, for your breathing while you're using it, and for the skin of the next person who sits in the tub (no matter how much you rinse). Sometimes "clean" is a lot more harmful than a little dirt! A lot of the cleaners emit fumes and just aren't healthy to breathe. I don't think paper towels hold up at all, and they are a waste of money and trees. I just saw a report on Good Morning America about how a lot of the "green" products are misleading - they may have seals that state they are "better for the environment" or "all natural" but often they aren't certified by an independent organization - the manufacturer just sticks a green leaf on the label!

I'd use baking soda unless you have a tub surface that will scratch easily. I use a scrubby and make a paste of the baking soda. If you do it often before the ring gets bad, it's easier all around. It rinses cleanly and thoroughly, and you can use it on the shower curtain too. It's cheap, safe, and effective.

Good luck!
