If the child's birthday falls on a weekday, we generally take the child out to eat and have the birthday party on the weekend. My daughter turns 7 tomorrow and would like to go out to eat somewhere where they sing to her or do something special. We need a place that is not too expensive and, if not in Denton, then not too far out. Last year we did Pancho's. Please help! Thank you in advance.

Joe's Crabshack is fun. They sing Happy Bday and it has been a while, but all the staff do a dance every 30 minutes or so. They also have an outside play area if the weather permits. The have a good kids menu too.

We always go to the Japanese restaurants where you sit at the table and they cook for you. The kids discovered they love shrimp when they served the complimentary appetizer. They also ventured into new veggie territory, along with their teriyaki chicken dinner. Yum!

Try El Guapo's restaurant downtown Denton right off of Elm Street. They have great food at great prices. They also sing and do a keepsake birthday photo!

There's a place in Sanger call Babe's and it's a very fun family oriented place to go! We go all the time! The waitress sing and gets the kids out in the aisle to do the chicken dance! Very cute and my kids look forward to it every time. They do a little birthday song and dance for the kids. Very limited menu, but it's served family style which is a lot of fun! Meats include: Roast beef, fried chicken, chicken strips, catfish, chicken fried steak. All sides included are green beans, mashed potatoes, corn and salad. Everything is homemade and super fresh. VERY VERY VERY GOOD!!! They're not open on Mondays though, so be aware... Hope you guys have fun! We save money by sharing the food. 2 orders of chicken strips is more than enough for 2 adults and 2 kids! Big, big, big orders of food. The fried chicken is like an entire chicken, huge!!!

Try Red Robin. They sing and bring the birthday person a hugh hot fudge sundae. My kids love going there. Plus you get free refills on the french fries. Yummy! Have fun and Happy Birthday!

Wow! You are so lucky to have so many kids that are so close together in age. We obviously always do a Chuck E Cheese "dinner" for our girls' birthdays. It is always what they pick. One place the girls' love is Joe's Crab Shack in Lewisville. They have great kid desserts!

We took my son to Texas Roadhouse in Denton for his 6th birthday. THey put him on a fake horse with a silly hat and these cups in his mouth to look like a fake beak and sang to him. He also loved being able to eat peanuts and leave the shells on the floor. He had lots of fun. It can be pricy, but if you stick to the hamburgers and such, it's not any more than Chili's if I remember. It's ordering the steaks that gets pricy. Also, it might be a drive, but my boys love Trail Dust and Rainforest Cafe too. All places that will sing to you!

I haven't been to the Babe's in Sanger, but my kids always enjoyed the Babe's in Roanoke. We've been going to the one in Roanoke for over 14 years. In the Roanoke one, the menu is even more limited: you get your choice of 2 things - chicken or chicken-fried steak. The description of the one in Sanger makes me want to go and give that one a try! We also like going to Japanese hibachi places that cook the food on a big grill right in front of you. Those places are more expensive than Babe's - - but fun to watch the kids try to catch a piece of shrimp in their mouth thrown by the chef. The Japanese chefs usually light an onion volcano on fire, too!! - - and fire always thrills the kids. The other place we've taken kids is Bucca de Beppo on Hwy. 114 in Southlake - - across from Costco. Their pizzas and entrees are served family style - - like you are eating in the basement at an Italian family's home. It costs more than Chuck E. Cheese! - - but you couldn't pay me to eat at Chuck E. Cheese anymore! I've been a mom way too long!!
