Restaurant Ideas Needed in Edh/folsom
I have a college friend coming to visit from NY next week. She and I would like to go out for dinner/drinks w/out the kids. I'd like to find a place that she wouldn't find in NY, (not Fats or BJ's). It can't be too small like Bailey's because we'll probably be talking and laughing and I don't want disturb anyone. Any suggestions in Folsom or EDH? Thanks!

I completely forgot about all of those places! I guess we've spent too much time at Red Robin...I couldn't remember what else was out there! I think we'll go to Bistro 33. This friend that is coming to town was my college roommate and we lived in Mid-town at the time. We went to opening night at Bistro 33 (down there it's called The 33rd Street Bistro) in our college days and that's where I had my first date with my husband. She'll get a kick out of going there.
Thanks so much for the suggestions!

Yes, Bistro 33 is very cool and pretty next to the water out there. Also next to it is the Wine Konnection, where you can wine taste... it always seems to have a very fun crowd going on there.
I've also heard that Folsom Bistro is nice, near the Folsom bridge. I'll be checking that out on Mother's Day weekend. The cool thing about that one is that it is near old Folsom if you want to walk around a little.

Bistro 33 is a pretty cool place. Good food with a nice atmisphere. It is in EDH on the main street leading to the movie theaters. Sorry I don't know the name of the street though. Went there once with some girlfriends and had a really good time.

I highly recommend Masque in El Dorado Hills. Having recently moved from Manhattan/Philadelphia, this was a welcome gem among the Bjs and Applebees.

Hi A.,
Folsom has a fairly new restaurant, Malabar... that has great drinks and food. They have a fun drink menu, and a nice large open bar area.

Hi,
If you like sushi then I highly recommend Sky in EDH. Bistro 33 is also a fun place in the town center (also the town center is kind of fun!). In old town Folsom My Brother Vinny's is a good Italian place-then you can go out afterwards. Good luck and have a fun kid free time!!
