Hi Moms,
I have a 20 month old that almost every time he wants to say something, he repeats it a few times.
Milk, milk, milk, milk, mlik
mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy
milk: mi, mi, mi, mi, mi, mi, mi, mi
ball, ball, ball, ball
etc...
I just make sure Im not the only one living this, and hope that this will pass. Is this a stage they go through?

Im a grandmother of a 20 month old and it makes us

Our daughter did the same thing. I was super worried about it as she would occasionally roll her eyes while speaking. We took her to the dr and were assured that she was fine. Sometimes their little brains think faster than their mouths move. We were encouraged to not interupt her while speaking and to ignore it. Sure enough in a couple of months she stopped...
Just a phase.
They are learning.
When a baby or child is learning or hitting milestones, they REPEAT it over and over and over.
It is instinct. It is practicing.
LOTS more repeating of words/actions... to come.
Kids love repetition and also hearing themselves. It is just a phase and soon it'll be replaced with an equally annoying phase.
Likely just a phase. Practicing and wanting to be sure they are heard and understood. Question I would have is can he stop it on his own or can you redirect it? Sometimes these things can be tics or stuttering or something neurological, but at 20 months its WAY too early to worry about that.
Sounds pretty typical to me. I'd worry more about a child who didn't point to what he wanted, one who would takes your hand and walks you to what he wants, or one who stops talking. At age 3 if you think your child has speech delays you can contact the local school district for evaluation and services. My guess is by that time, this won't be an issue. Early start programs are available before that, but you haven't said anything to make me think your child would qualify.

Hi Mama-
My 2.5 year old nephew repeats full sentences over and over and over again until someone acknowledges his commentary. It can get quite repetitious! Apparently it's quite normal! LOL! So not to fret. I am pretty sure it will pass at some point.
