Removing Sticker on Glass

Buy some "Goo Gone". It's available in crafts stores and probably Home Depot. It removes literally anything. Be cautious of the fumes though, it's very potent.

Hi, I would suggest using WD40, I have used it to take stickers off of glass and it worked great and didn't harm the glass at all.

I'd try GOO GONE. It's an oil based product that is sold at various places .... Hobby Lobby, Michael's, WalMart, and Home Depot. Good Luck!!

have you tried goo gone? That stuff workes wonders.

WD 40 is amazing for many uses. Try it on your problem. It will dissolve the old sticker and glue, without damaging yor porcelain.

There are a few things you can try and I hope that at least one of them works for you...

Windex and a soft scouring pad
WD 40 can work as well
or simply soak the dish in warm soapy water....
the wd40 is the one I used the most when trying to get things off of windows, furniture and other things....

My hubby says paint thinner should do it.

WD-40 works great on removing residue from glue on duct tape etc so thy that.

Try a little drop of Orange Essential Oil. I have used it to get stickers off of things in the past. It works great and it's non toxic. Good luck!

Try baby oil, cooking oil or a product called goo gone (home depot).

Baby oil should work, I've used it on many things plus I always have some on hand. Give it a try and good luck....

Try "GOO GONE" it's worked for me. After applying it, wash your porcelain with a sponge your not going to use anymore to get out the chemically orange smell. Good luck!

Finger nail polish remover usually works well on things like this.

Goo Gone works best and it's safe to use. I don't think you have to worry about devaluing the set by removing the sticker. It was probably a resellers sticker or a "made in" sticker and would likely come off with use anyways. If the porcelain itself is not marked and you can read what is on the sticker, you might want record that or research it to find out what you have so you can document for future reference.

Goo Gone works wonders. I think it's citrus based, but you might want to double check to make sure you don't ruin the tea set.

Try baby oil. Works for me!

spray it with wd40 and let it sit then use a soft scrubber to get it up it may take a couple of time but it will work

rubbing alcohol should work. It may take several applications and lots of patience.

Try setting the cup upside down then spraying on window cleaner (I prefer glass plus) & let the sticker 'soak' for several minutes, at least 10 min, then to avoid scratching the cup, if you have one, use an orange stick used for manicures which has a pointy end & an angled end (use the angled end) or something firm that won't scratch or even a dry 'rough' towel (not paper towel) to scrape off the sticker. You may hafta try a couple of times but it's worked for me w/stickers like that although I hadn't tried w/stickers as old as the one you're trying to remove but good luck!!

Taking a sticker off devalues the item. (too much Antiques Roadshow watching). I would use my finger nail and scrape it but using the outside of the nail so not to get it all under neith. If that did not work. I would try a hard plastic flat edge ..like the end of a ruler. Last I would just use a razor. The soaking over night in water should help you must peel while the thing is fresh out of the water still soaked. Good luck.

I have had great results with rubbing alcohol! Pour some on and let it sit, then it should wipe off.

There is a product called Goo Gone that is sold at Wal-Mart. It works wonders. It's never failed me.

Removing the sticker may detract from the value of the set.

Is the sticker part of the original or was it added to the cup by someone who owned it? The sticker itself may be valuable or add value to the tea set - prove who made it, etc. you may not want to remove it!!!!

But was it really soapy water? Ah, then try the product Goo Gone. May need to let it soak on there a few times. Last resort, lighter fluid, like you put in a lighter... I used to be a china buyer and these are all of the things we were instructed to use by the Wedgewood company.. Good Luck...

I'm no expert but I think taking the sticker off will diminish the value of the set. I say leave it on. However, I think Goof Off would work.

Try spraying on a little WD40, let it sit for a few minutes then wipe with a soapy rag. Make sure to wash well after to get all of the WD40 off the cup! If that doesn't work, try sitting it in a saucer of white vinegar. Vinegar seems to be an incredibly good natural cleaner! Good luck.

First of all, I agree with the gal who suggested leaving the sticker on if it has significance. Otherwise, I'd recommend a non-toxic alternative to the lighter fluid, goo gone, wd-40 options. Those products are potentially very harmful if inhaled, absorbed, injested into your body. Try a product called Sol-U-Mel, from Melaleuca, The Wellness Company. It's the company I've purchased all my household and personal care products from for 14 years. GOOD LUCK!

Just use rubbing alcohol, it's harmless and most everyone has it around the house!
