Oh my gosh!!! I used a gauze like bandaid on the knees of my little girl. I cannot get the sticky off! The gauze is dirty and barely pulls off. I tried soap & water, alcohol. How do I get it off? Any tricks? Thanks!
Thank you all! I never knew about oil! I ended up using nail polish remover, her nails were painted so I was able to do both at the same time! She just wouldn't let me near it, must of hurt trying to get it off by pulling! Thanks again!
soak her in the tub and see if that helps. If that does not do the trick may be try some baby oil. let it sit on there for a few minutes and then try to rub it off with a washcloth. a cotton ball may stick. You need some type of oil to get the adhesive off.
When my daughter was in the hospital, they removed all of the many very sticky bandages with these little orange-smelling individually wrapped swabs specifically made for that. Maybe you could stop by an emergency clinic or a pharmacy and see if they have any of those.
I have used baby oil to remove sticky residue and it seems to work for me.
Soak with it in salt water for 10 to fifteen minutes, less ouchies that way. Use epsom salts.

Nail polish remover works great, just make sure she doesn't have an open wound too close...if she does use a qtip and dip it in the remover.

Try putting baby oil or veggie oil on it and rub it around and let it sit a few minutes and then wash it with soap. Like dissolves like.. So the oil will help dissolve the glue in the bandaids. I do that at home all the time. I guess being a chemist for 6 years comes in handy once in a while.. Lol!
Try baby oil. That should work. I breaks up wax when I wax my eyebrows so it may help. It's also the best thing to use for a little child. You don't want to put any harsh chemicals on her skin. It may cause an allergic reaction. Let me know if it works.

I use baby oil. It can even be used to help remove bandages, just rub oil into the outside of the bandage and slowly it will seep through and nutralize the stickiness.
Bandage just falls off and kids don't fuss so when it comes time to take off bandaids.
Here are a few ideas you can try. One of these should work. Depending on the type of ashesive, one may work better than another. Good Luck!
1. You can remove a bandage by applying a warm compress, like a warm wet wash cloth. To remove a bandage from a wound that should not get wet, use a hair dryer on the tape for a few seconds. This softens the adhesive and makes it easier to remove the bandage.
2. You can spread baby/vegetable oil over and around the bandage with a cotton ball. The oil should remove the adhesive left on the skin.
3. If all else fails, you can use Vaseline, WD40, PB Blaster or any other petroleum based lubricant. Check the label to make sure the lubricant is petroleum based.
VASELINE - Rub the Vaseline over the adhesive area and wipe off with paper towel.
SPRAY LUBRICANTS - To use products such as WD40 or PB Blaster spray on a paper towel and wipe the adhesive. The paper towel needs to be wet, but not dripping. It will come right off.
**Make sure to clean the area afterward with soap and water to remove any residue left behind by the lubricant.
Maybe some baby oil.
Nail Polish remover always gets band-aid goo off for me.

Baby Oil!!!! Use a cotton ball to put baby oil on the sticky stuff, wait about 5 min, then use another cotton ball to rub it off. Should come off very easily!
Oil dissolves rubbery adhesives (like band-aids, labels on jars, price stickers on drinking glasses, etc). Wipe or spray on any oil and leave for a few minutes, then wash off. I use spray oil like Pam, or olive oil. Best of luck!
Try baby oil, i know it works for the medical tape that leaves those marks. Hope this helps. :)
Did you try an ice cube? Rub it on the area that is sticky and it starts to roll off the hair and skin. How long it takes depends on how much is stuck on the area. I have done this a number of times. I also have a product I use, safe non toxic and doesnt hurt wounds, for the future. But the ice cube works great! Let me know if it worked! :)
I also vote baby oil...soak a cotton ball and it should work :)
I know this stinks, but I've gone thru hundreds of bandaids w/my kids and have tried many different ones and found that the more expensive brands are the ones that don't stick.
I've gotten many cheap dollar store kinds that are completely useless!!
Baby Oil works like a dream on all kinds of sticky things and is gentle on their skin!
