Relocating to McKinney Area- Need Advice on a Preschool Starting in Jan.

We are relocating to McKinney from Missouri in Late December/ early Janurary and I need some advice on a great Preschool in the area. My son attends a school that we love now and I really want him to find something comparable once we move. He attends M-W-F 9-12 at our school now, and that is close to what I would want for him at a new preschool. The school is a Christian preschool- however non-denominational, but I am not opposed to another style if it is a great school. Send me advice, suggestions or even just a hello. I don't know a soul in Texas and welcome any new friends :)

What can I do next?

Hi M.,
I am a realtor with Keller Williams Realty. Do you have a realtor you are working with yet? Are you going to rent or buy a home in McKinney. I would be happy to help you find a place in McKinney as well as research the perfect school for your kiddos. You can reach me at ###-###-#### or ____@____.com a great day!

I am going to recommend the best christian based school in the metroplex. Wesleyan Academy in Irving.

I don't have any recommendations (my kids are 22 and 18)...just wanted to say "Welcome to Texas". I hope your move goes smoothly and that you find a wonderful place for your children! God Bless!

Hi my name is L. Daley and I am a mother of 3 children, 1,2,and 3 years of age. I am a candidate for a doctoral degree in early childhood education. In addition,I am also the Education Manager for the Grove School of Plano. We are a brand new private preschool opening in Jan 2010. I read you post and I felt obligated to tell you about this fresh new approach to preschool. At the Grove School, we not only focus on educational excellence but teach the children the importance of a healthy body, mind, and planet. The curriculum is structured similar to elementary school in that the academic offering is supplemented by learning strands. These learning strands are fine arts, dramatic arts, healthy me, eco friends, and music. Children will have the opportunity to grow and harvest from an organic garden, learn about the importance of solar energy with a greenhouse on site, and move their body naturally through different yoga poses. There is a lot more I could tell you if you are interested. Check out our website at groveschool.com. The first two US locations are Plano,TX and Cary,NC. I am truly excited about this school! My children will be there with me as well. Please e-mail me if you have any additional questions at ____@____.com.

Welcome to Texas :)

Hi M.,

They are most likely full, but try Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church in Allen www.cottonwoodcreek.org
They are off 121. I used to teach in the Kidcare program there and my nephew went to preschool there. It is staffed by the sweetest ladies who really love children. They are a Baptist church, but they don't mind other denominations, like say Methodist LOL. Truly a wonderful preschool, Transitional Kindergarten and MDO.

Best of luck for your move!
M.

PS- I just saw your "about me" and the Harrington School

in Farmers Branch is also a wonderful Pre-K. They might be more likely to have an opening in the middle of the year.
