Refinishing Butcher Block
So I've sanded down the butcher block to the point it looks practically new. I was planning on using Mineral Oil and then Beeswax to refinish it. But my neighbor, who stopped by the hardwood store for me, brought home something called "Good Stuff" from Bally block. It says that is non-toxic, food safe; however, it also has a poison warning in case it's swallowed. Has anyone used this? Do you like your finish? I'm almost more hesitant because it's a change of plan more than anything else. Thanks mamas.
So What Happened?™
After ya'll's advice plus some additional research, I decided to stick with my original plan and use the mineral oil. I decided that the Bally Block really is intended for Butcher Block Counters - not ones that are possibly going to be used as cutting boards (it looks so good right now, I may never chop on it again). I'm planning to use the beeswax - I ordered online, so it's not here yet. That's supposed to give a little extra shine and a bit of extra protection from moisture. But after just a few coats of mineral oil, and it looks great. Thanks for all your advice.

I'd stick to mineral oil and beeswax

We had a butcher block island previously and always used just mineral oil on it. That's what we use on our wood cutting boards too. Cheap and easy. I haven't heard of the other product. Does it say what's in it? I'd be more inclined to stick with your initial plan unless you know more about this other product.

You can use the mineral oil, but you can also treat with walnut oil too (that is what I use on my bamboo cutting board) it leaves no smell, and as long as you use a thin coating after every cleaning it does a great job. If it is toxic to swallow it, don't use it on your counter, after all that is where your food goes, and it could get in to your food.

I talked personally to a cutting board master. He stated to refinish a cutting board: sand with a wet sand paper and only use mineral oil nothing else. The wood does weep and anything other than mineral oil will get into your food.
Bees wax was never mentioned.
