Referral for VBAC Dr
I live in Orange County (Anaheim, not far from Knotts Berry Farm) and I am looking for people who have had a c-section and later had a VBAC and to let me know what Dr/Hosp you used. I am optimistic that I will find someone, its just finding someone that is not far from me, has a good reputation, and at a hospital that is open to VBAC's as well. Can anyone help?

Hi C., I had an emergency C-section with my first due to an illness I had called HELLP Syndrome and then three VBAC's after my first. My 2nd. child was 9lbs. 3oz. and I delivered her in 20 minutes, 3rd. child was 6lbs. 9oz. delivered in 5 minutes and 4th. child was 7lbs. 7oz. delivered in under 4 minutes. VBAC was the best experience of my life!!! I have a wonderful OB named Dr. Hagadorn out of Irvine Regional Hospital in Irvine. They might be able to refer you if that is too far. ###-###-####
Good luck and congratulations!!!

I had a c-sec with my son, and have not actually had another child to have a vbac with, but since we are trying to get pregnant, this is something I discussed with my OB. Personally, I prefer to have another c-sec . . . but my doctor is hugely supportive of VBACS. She is wonderful . . . Dr. Janis Fee in Anaheim Hills. I don't know if that is too far for you, but that is my dr., and she does them. Good luck!!

Wanted to send you tons of good thoughts - I'm planning a VBAC for this baby (#2) as well. I'm up in Long Beach with Kaiser and my midwife, Lisa Waldbaum, is very supportive. I'm actually planning a homebirth with Mary Lou O'Brien. Good luck!!

I just had my 2nd baby at St. Jude's. This hospital WILL do VBACs. Although I ended up with a c-section (3 days postdate, low amniotic fluid, with no dilation, etc), my doctor was confident that I was a good candidate for VBAC. His name is Dr. Gray at the Medical Center for Women in Fullerton. ###-###-####.

Hi C.,
I would try Dr. Nick Thanos or Dr. Cortez in Fullerton/Yorba Linda. Just do a google search for their office number as I don't have it in front of me.

I do not know if this is helpful or not. But, St Jude's in Fullerton will not. They had 3 ruptures in a year and after a rupture that baby better be out in 7 mins....So, I know it's rare, but, they are covering their butts.

Dear C.,
i don't know of a particular doctor but you could check out a web site founded by the woman who was the doula at my son's birth...its www.mybirthteam.com
On the site you will find access to all kinds of family planning practitioners in areas all over the country.
Good luck and best wishes.
Sincerely,
R.

I had a great VBAC experience with my second daughter. Dr. Lihn Nguyen and Orange Coast Memorial in Fountain Valley delivered both of my girls with a super outcome. She was supportiive of my desire but kept an eye on the medical risks the whole way. Good luck!
