Recommendations on Proper Underwear That Won't Ride Up.

Me and my children, girls ages 11 and 10 are blessed with *booty*!!! The kids have trouble with undies riding up -I've solved this with thongs but...you know, these kids don't have that option. We have tried Fruit of the Loom, Hanes and Limited Too brands of mostly hipster and low-rise hipsters and continue to have the same problems. Briefs tend to show on the upper waist band. (And you know in 5th grade, this is just unacceptable.) It's hard to blow money on a 10 pack of undies or pay $3-5 each just to have them ride up again. One is requesting "boyfriend-style" and I plan on trying them. Anyone LOVE your "bootylicious" girl's brand??? What are they?

Soma Intimates - Chico's lingerie store - has a style with thin silicone strips (like on strapless bras) all around the booty area! They are fabulous! It does take a little getting used to and a couple of washings for them to be totally comfortable, but there is absolutely NO riding!

I am definitely a bootylicious woman (especially after my son) and a professional (semi-retired now) partnership dancer and teacher and they don't ride even in the middle of rehearsals. They are a little pricey (similar to Victoria Secret) but they do have sales. However they are totally worth it! I will never go back!!

It sounds like you have your situation under control. I too have a bootylicious little girl. She is almost seven and most of her jeans are lower rise. I buy low rise briefs one size larger than she normally wears. This gives her plenty of bottom coverage without stomach coverage. I usually buy the Hanes, FOL, or the Walmart brand. I also make sure she wears a belt with her jeans so the waist will fit close to her body instead of gapping open in the back and exposing her undies.

You have been given great recommendations.. Please also remember to be properly fitted. Just because you are tiny on top and fall into a certain size for everything else, you may need to go up a few sizes for your panties. My sister is super tiny, but she has a wonderful Booty and actually wears a larger size than anyone would imagine.

Soma...it has grippers on the underwear that don't let it ride up. I have that problem, too, all the time, and these are the only ones that don't do it.

Have you tried the 'seamless boy short'? They're seamless, won't show under clothes & won't "ride up". They come in fun colors & different styles too. I think those are different than what's called "booty' shorts, the boy shorts are longer but they DO make the underwear kind, I saw them on an Oprah show dealing w/clothes. I would say, just try the different styles avail til you find some that work. Good luck!

I acutally just saw a commerical just a few days ago about Hanes, I think, specifically made some new undies that dont' ride up. It had the blonde girl from Scrubs in it. Sorry... that is all I caught!

Hello J., I do have a decent booty and I have found that the boyshorts work best. The ones I use are the Maidenform brand, these are the ones that have worked best for me. I had a friend of mine who is a little overweight and has a big booty try them as well and she was pleased.

I hope this helps.

I get hanes briefs, but instead of the high rise ones, they actually make a low rise kind, so you get the benefit of both features, they cover your backside, yet they don't go up to your belly button, they ride low just like bikini underwear would. I was really excited when I found them b/c that has always been my prob too. I last got them at Target.

I too have bought from SOMA- http://www.soma.com/
they are a bit costly for the pre teen girls who grow so quickly- maybe try one pair? I also got some from Costco a few months back- they had a similar strechy comfortable leg band & waist band- I determined I would buy more of that brand since they were so comfortable (I have an 8 month pregnant "booty" that is giving me issues... :-) Try them first! Then try SOMA if the less expensive ones don't work- you can buy 1 pair of the undies in the SOMA store. There is one located in the quarry market.

I buy Jockey for me, but don't know if they make undies for the little ones. They're so much cheaper at the outlets and when you can find them on sale there - even better.

I do have a recommendation - we had the same problem, my daughter is 12. I bought the boyfriend style underwear from American Eagle...they are a little pricey, but seem to work well for her. Good luck!!

I use Barely There, which you can find at all Kohl's and the outlet mall on 290 at the Hanes store. Very comfortable and they have different styles to choose from such as boyfriend, briefs, bikini, and others.

my daughter (4.5) and I have the same problem. For me I went with the Hanes brand and love them, they really don't ride up and they're at Target 8 for $5. Not sure how small they run but it might work for the girls as well. My LO wears panties from JCPenny (whatever their store brand is). Like the other poster said, I go a size up for her. She's still young enough to be okay with the brief showing on top though. I will say the "boy short" style was just as bad for me so I don't recommend that route. I have a friend who puts her 8 yo in boxer briefs, a bit extreme but it works for them!
