Recommendations on Magicians or Entertainers for My Daughter's First Communion

I am looking for a good entertainer or magician for my daughter's First Communion Party this May. We live on the Northwest side of Chicago near the Northshore and would love to hear feedback from anyone who has a had a great experience with a magician or entertainer at their home. We will have to entertain 25 children from ages 2-15. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What can I do next?

Hi K. -

I am writing to recommend a performer named Geoff Akins. He is a bubbleologist. His website is www.bubblejuggler.com and I tell people about him all the time. He does really amazing and cool things with bubbles! Apparrently there are only 5 or so bubbleologists in the world. He is a terrific performer and a unique choice to make for a special occasion.

We hired Geoff as an entertainer for my son's birthday party, and he was fabulous. Even the parents stopped to watch his performance. After seeing his performance at my son's party, my sister-in-law hired him as well as a friend, and both were really satisfied. He is extremely personable, and great with kids of all ages.

Good luck!

Contact him he was awesome, all the parents loved him and he is affordable. I hope this helps you out, good luck on your party.

Magic by Randy - he did our children's baptism and was GREAT! Everyone loved him. I don't know his number off hand but he has a website by the same name. Also, he was very reasonable.

I don't know who exactly, but I have heard there are great puppet shows found in the phone book...

Hi K.,

I was a huge birthday party mom and the best one ever was when I contacted the American Indian Center in Chicago and hired a storyteller. He kept 20+ kids, with an age range as wide as this one, spellbound indoors for a solid hour on a hot sweaty day. This particular storyteller has moved out of the area, but if you look around I'm sure you can find someone. It was so memorable and would be a nice change for a first Communion.

Good luck!

O'Donovans on 2100 W. Irving Park has great magicians there. You could give them a call and ask for Jim or Al's number. O'Donovan's phone number is ###-###-####. Either one of those two guys are amazing.
