Recommendations for Provider at Womens Health Center of Oregon Repeat C
I am 6 months pregnant and just moved to Clackamas, I started seeing the providers at Womens Health Center of Oregon. I am on my 3rd C-section and wanted to know if anyone has had good and bad experiences with their "C's" there and who I should choose to do mine.

I highly recommend Dr. Tamara Medley! I've had three c-sections, the last one just 8 months ago, and she performed each one. With every pregnancy I always felt that she was a very caring doctor, easy to talk to, and very knowledgeable. Each of my surgeries went smoothly, despite my first one being an emergency c-section and my third coming early, and she was very attentive afterwards as well. I feel like she can truly relate, also, as she has four children of her own and she's experienced both natural labor, and a c-section with her last delivery. With Dr. Medley I think you'll find a nice balance of both professionalism and compassion. She has my vote!
Well, I just realized that you're asking about a different Women's Health Center then the one in Grants Pass, OR, and as far as I can see you can't delete your responses. Oh, well! Perhaps this info. will be useful for someone in my area. Sorry I couldn't help!

Hi A., Congratulations of your soon to come baby.
I had my daughter at St. Vincent through Womens Healthcare Associates.
I had Dr. Stull deliver my baby. She knows about medicine, but she was not gentle or caring during the birth. I was actually very hurt because I expected her to be a bit more caring. When she broke my water she looked at me like I was crazy for crying. My doula and husband were angry with her about the way she was acting. Luckily, I did have my husband and a birthing doula there for support. The doula & birthing nurses were very caring and helpful.
The 3rd floor recovery room is cramped. It was horrible. I think there are larger rooms on a different floor. These rooms were originaly designed as surgery recovery rooms, not for a woman, husband and baby!
All of the nurses were nice, except for Karly.
The lactation specialists are excellent. I think lactation specialist was named Bonnie... Her name starts with a "B". She was a lifesaver. Without her help I would not have been able to breastfeed.
If I were to give birth again I would not go back. Everyone has a different experience, but most people I know didn't like giving birth at St. Vincent. I hope some people can share more positive experiences with you. If not, you may consider changing. I didn't feel right about it, but I kept going because I was too afraid to change. I regret my decision.
Most of the time, you cannot choose the doctor who delivers your baby in this practice. You are part of a group. Any of the doctors can deliver your baby.

You are with a good group of doctors. I have seen Dr Susanka for years and she has done a myomectomy and delivered my baby 4 years ago. She is still my gynocologist to this day. However, I here she is only working part time right now. I second Dr Salisbury, who was our obstetrician all the way through my pregnancy while Dr Susanka was on family leave. She kept me calm and took good care of me even being high risk cause of age, preeclampsia symptoms and plain old fear of everything about to come. The nurses are great too. Although I know many who delivered at this hospital, we chose to deliver at Meridian Park cause it was less than a mile from our house and Dr Susanka brought Dr wendy brown? as a co to deliver, they did an excellent job with a team of nurses and anesthesiologist that they had not worked with before.
We love them! Good luck and congratulations!

I've been going to WHCOO for the past 6 years. I love it there! I have several friends who go here as well. We all have different female doctors and each of us are very happy. For you, with a 3rd c-section I would recommend Dr. Nancy Salisbury. She is GREAT! She did my friend's c-section and the experience was great for an emergency c. I would also recommend Dr. Sharrel Carlton. She delivered my son, who surprised us by arriving 8-1/2 weeks early. WHCOO doesn't have a NICU, nor deliver before 36 wks at the attached hospital (Willamette Falls), but Dr. Carlton was my hero! She was calm, cool, & collected...just like it was a normal delivery. I can't say enough good things about Willamette Falls Hospital either. The atmosphere is warm/cozy/maybe even homey even. The lighting is not the stark bright lights. The nursing staff is awesome. Every nurse who helped me was amazing...two even stayed past their shifts until my son arrived & they knew he was ok & I was doing fine as well.
Anyway, as you can see, I can't say enough good things about WHCOO or Willamette Falls. You can read the profiles of all the Providers at http://www.whcoo.com/.
Best of luck to you! Regardless of who you choose, you'll be in good hands.

You are in great hands at the Women's Health Center!
I love Dr. Susanka. She was my doctor with my first suprise c-section and all was great. I healed and felt fine. The second I was only with her a a couple months before she went on family leave.
Then I was with Dr. Cooper (another recommendation from a friend,He is her Dr.) He was good and all was fine.
I am VERY happy Dr. Suzanka is back, and she is so easy to talk to about anything. Good luck on your new addition.
I have two happy, healthy boys thanks to the Women's Health Center!
