Recommendations for Prenatal/OB/Hospitals

Hi! I just found out I am pregnant and am looking for recommendations for an OB to provide excellent prenatal care visits in San Diego area. Any suggestions? :)

What can I do next?

I recommend Dr. Colleen McNally. She is at 8010 Frost Street just North of Mary Birch Hospital. She delivered all 3 of M. babies at Mary Birch and is wonderful. The phone number is ###-###-####.

Hi-

Congratulations! I actually had great experiences with Leslie Gray out of Sharp Rees Stealy-La Mesa. The prenatal care was excellent, and Wanda, her Nurse Practitioner is excellent as well. The only downside is she is one of I think 12 OB's for the group so she might not be on call when you go into labor. She delivers out of Mary Birch and I felt so comfortable there. I also had one horrible miscarriage and had to go to Mary Birch and M. husband and I were impressed with the way they handled the emergency, and us as well.

Good Luck with your search. You're in good hands with whoever you choose!

I really enjoyed IGO Medical Group in UTC (M. OB no longer practicing there, but staff, nurses and other docs are great too). Office is really up up to date and lab is right next door, no need to run around everywhere. And the Scripps La Jolla Hospital for delivery (three babies there and love the nurses). Congrats!

Check out Best Start Birth Center in Hillcrest. It is run by midwives and is very relaxed and offers excellent care. I had M. check-ups there and gave birth there last year and loved it!!!

Congrats,
J.

Dr. Karen Kohatsu with Poway Women's care. She is a fabulous OBGYN. She delivers at Pomerado hospital in Poway, which also a great hospital to have a baby, the whole hospital staff is wonderful. I highly recommend her.
