Recommendations for Play Kitchens...

Hi, I am looking to purchase a toy kitchen for Christmas for my daughter who will be 2 in February. There are so many out there that I don't know which one to choose! Can anyone recommend one? Also, does anyone have any experience with the new Fisher Price Grow With Me Kitchen?

So What Happened?™

Hi, everyone...thanks for all of the advice. We ended up buying the Little Tike Cook N Grill kitchen on Sunday. TRU had it for $139 on sale. I could not get my hands on the Fisher Price Grow With Me kitchen. I think she will like it alot and will get alot of use out of it. Thanks again for all the advice and Merry Christmas!

My daughter just got the Fisher Price Grow with me Kitchen. She will be two in April. She loves it. And right now it is just her size. My husband and I have raised it and lowered it just to see if it was going to be easy or not. And it is. You just push together to yellow buttons on the side and lift up. You do the same to put it down other than the lifting. I think it is perfect for toddlers and it is not very expensive.

I can't say which one is better but I was looking at Pottery Barn kids catalogs... WOW. Really neat (but expensive) items like this for kids. I remember my little penguin fridge when I was a kid. ha ha

My mom is buying one for my daughter who is 19 months and its made by Fisher Price...I'm sorry I don't remember the name...but it starts out small and then as they get bigger you raise it up so it's taller and makes different noises. It has a phone and a blender and sizzling noises for the pans....I think it's the greatest, but that's my opinion...Good luck.

I too, am looking for a kitchen for my daughter who will be 2 in March. A few of my friends have told me to make sure that which ever kitchen I choose (whether wooden or plastic) - make sure it has doors that open (like the stove and fridge) because that will allow for storage for all the accessories! I was also told that the wooden ones have a much higher resale value or will last longer.... Hope this helps!

Hello!

I am also in the market for a toy kitchen for my 17 month old daughter. This is what I've found out so far. Trying to get a Grow with me kitchen is almost impossible at this point. Toys-R-Us is the only store to carry them and they are constantly sold out....
I've decided to try Bigtoy Express in the Randhurst Mall today...They carry Little Tike and Step 2 kitchens which are a bit more expensive but look very cute....I'll let you know what I find today.

Anything Little tikes makes is good. however I am a daycare provider and I just learned the less gadgets the better. the kids tend to be more creative and pretend play is easier if the kitchen is basic. Ours just has a stove top that makes noise( clicks and sizzles) which drives me crazy. we got it 2 years ago from MIL. If I were to buy one now it would be a plain wood painted one. It is also good to let the kids play with large size( normal size) utensils.

My daughter will also be 2 in February and we bought our daughter one for christmas, we choose the following:

based on size and noises and reviews....personally I think that as moms we over think what to get and I am sure that your daughter will like whichever kitchen you choose for her.
Good Luck!
