Recommendations for Good Workout Music

Hi Ladies-

As part of my New Year's changes I am trying to get healthy. I've joined Weight Watchers and started exercising daily. In an effort to support me, my loving husband bought me an iPod for Christmas to use while walking. I love it, but being a stay at home mom for the past several years has left me completely out of touch with the current music. I've loaded my favorite CD's from college (yes that's the last time I bought a CD!) and have purchased a few songs that I like from iTunes, but nothing seems to be quite right for a good workout.

I need recommendations for good, fun workout songs! Anything that keeps you moving and makes the time go a little faster would be great.

Thanks for the help!
K.

Now, I don't know what your musical taste is, but I discovered years ago that I love to work out to "Purple Rain" by Prince. It's got the perfect mix of high energy and cool down, and in the perfect order. I would run in place and lunge, etc. and just wear myself out. Then, the very last song was my extended cool down.

Hey K.,

Congrats on your committment to getting healty for YOU!
I, too, am a Weight Watcher! I am a Lifetime Member and I absolutely LOVE this program! Good luck and I'm sure you'll do awesome!!

As far as music, I love my IPOD at the gym. My Era is the 80's but my IPOD has such a mix of old an new stuff. I have an almost 10 year old girl so I'm learnig alot about the "in" music! ha!! Here's some of what I have on my IPOD. If the song is catchy and makes me want to groove I'll put it on!!

~Madonna!! Old and new!
~Steve Miller Band!
~U2: Veritgo Great song
~Escape Club: Wild Wild West
~Fergie: Can't remember the CD name but it has London Bridge, My Humps (that's the Black Eyed Peas)
~Gwen Stefani
~Brittney Spears new one Womanizer (it's a bit overboard but it makes you go!)
~LOW by Flo Rida (It's a rap song and I'm embarrased to say I have it on there but again it's what makes me want to move!
~Pink: So What, I'm coming Out
~Ashley Tisdale: Headstrong
~Justin Timberlake: Sexy Back
~Van Halen: Right Now
~Hillary Duff:Why Not
~Allie and AJ: Like Whoa
And Yes, I even have some Hannah Montana! GNO is a good one to work out to, and somoe of her other newer ones. (that's compliments of my daughter!ha!) Oh, Fly on the Wall and 7 Things are good to work out to.

I have more but can't think of them off the top. If I like the song then I put it on! Old or new!
I started listening to 104.1 KRBE to get me up to speed on the new stuff as I was always listening to 106.9 and I was getting stuck in the 80's and had no idea who these new artists were! LOL!

Good luck and happy health!
M.

I like songs from Christina Aguilera's "Dirty" (it is not that bad). My husband laughs at me that I like that CD but when I workout on the eliptical machine her upbeat songs really make time go by!

Good for you on getting healthy. I just got a new MP3 Player (my other one bit the dust) and made a resolution to get serious about working out too!
