I have a 4 yr old that would like to put in preschool 3-4 days a week. Not a daycare but preschool where he can start learning before kindergarden..

What can I do next?

My boys both attended Cornerstone Cooperative Preschool in Denton, and we loved it there! It's a bit of a commitment, but it's very affordable and I wouldn't trade the experience for the world.

Hi M.,

I just recently moved from Corinth to Florida (miss Texas so much!!) and would proudly recommend Kids Day Out which is a part of FBC Corinth on Meadowview Rd in Corinth. Not only was that my wonderful home church but my two boys went to the program there. It's only two days a week and does contain Christian teaching but it is a fantastic program. It is probably too late to get in for this school year but they should be about to register any day now for the 2011-2012 school year. It fills up quickly and has a waiting list so if you are interested you have to check on it quickly. The director is Christina and the asst. director is Amy, if you talk to either of them, please tell them Glenda recommended you and tell them how much we miss Miss Debbie and KDO this year! :-)

I would recommend you touch base with the child care resource and referral service for our area. Don't be turned off by the title "child care" if you choose to work with them they can find programs that are specific to pre-k and school-readiness. That is a bit of a cost ($10) but so worth it to have the detailed information of places that meet your needs/desires for your child and then all you have to do is visit and give them your stamp of approval!
Here is the link. Good luck!

I have 2 boys ages 4 and 2, they attend Sonshine School in Lake Dallas. We love it! You can go either Tues/Thurs or Tues/Wed/Thurs and it is very affordable. The reason I chose this pre-school is they have parents volunteer instead of having teachers aides (which is optional-you don't have to). So I volunteer 6 days a year-this was a big deal to me last year b/c I wanted to see what my boys were experiencing while they were there. Now I do it b/c the boys love for me to come- and I have no worries when I drop them off b/c I have been there and know how wonderful it is. I am so impressed with my 4yo teacher- they started working on sight words and simple sentences (made up of the sight words) at the start of the year. I would have never thought he was ready for that but he knows most of them- we do work on them at home also. If you would like to call and check them out the # is ###-###-####. The hours are 9-2. Hope you find a school that works you!
