Recommendation for Prenatal Massage in Lakeview

Does anyone have a recommendation for Prenatal Massage. I think I need one that has tables with the belly cut-outs, since laying on my side at night is killing me.

I live in the Lakeview area (Racine and Diversey/Belmont), so someplace close would be a dream.

You should call John Meltzer of Meltzer Massage. He really got me through my last pregnancy. HIs father is one of the biggest OBGYN's in the city and he worked out of that office for awhile and really developed a specialty in prenatal massage. His cell phone number is ###-###-####. Also, he had a 2 page spread this month in North Shore Women magazine but I know he is based out oof the city. He comes to your house too which made it really convenient for me since I had a toddler at the time of being pregnant too. I cant recommend him enough!!

I know it's not in Lakeview but I highly recommend Urban Oasis ( http://www.urbanoasis.biz )on North Avenue and Sheffield. I'm seven weeks postpartum now and during my last trimester I tried to get a massage every 2 to 3 weeks. Depending on your preference you can place your belly in the cutout, lay on your side or sit up with a wedge behind your back. With some sessions I had a combination of all 3 positions. The therapist will follow your lead in what is comfortable for you. If I could I would have gladly paid the spa just to let me sleep facing down in a darkened room for a couple of hours. If you can try to slurge and get the 90 minute massage, I always feel like the hour massages are a tease. Also you have the option of taking a rain shower to top off your visit. There is also a parking garage in the building too. Which was a blessing because I didn't have the patience or strength to search or hike a few blocks for available parking during that time. Hope this helps.

I believe Kaya Salon at 112 N. May St. in the West Loop has the tables with the cutouts. I haven't had a prenatal massage there yet (I have one scheduled for March 19th), but I'm positive they mentioned when I made the appt, that they use tables like that.

I went to the Chicago School of Massage Therapy while I was pregnant and they did a really good job. (Belmont & Greenview) They don't have tables with belly cut-outs (I don't think), but they have been trained specially in prenatal massage. They have professionals and students, so make sure your appt. is with a professional and that that personal specializes in prenatal massage.

I've heard that Urban Oasis on Sheffield has very good massages for pregnant women - they do have the special tables too.
