I am thinking a getting a camcorder. What do you have? What features do you like? What are some pitfalls you have seen? My family has a new grandbaby,with another one due this fall. The extended family would also like to tape my Mom (90 years old) to get her family history, memories etc. One of the teenage nephews has the knowledge of how to edit. Ultimately we would like to share a video of my Mom's memories with the whole family. Personally I would also like to take pics. of our adult kids and their families. I would also like to use the camera while we travel, and of outdoor scenes. Thank you in advance for any suggestions, comments and recommendations

I have a Samsung digital camera, that has a video feature. It takes AWESOME video!!! Seriously, it is better than the videos my grandma's camcorder. It also has different settings, including daylight, nighttime, moving children, portriate, SCENERY, etc.
I just got a Kodak pocket digital video camera - Playsport. It's about the size of a cell phone, it can take underwater video up to 10 feet, it can take still shots, and the video is amazingly clear for such a tiny camera. I love it because it is so handy. I found that I wasn't taking out our bigger, more traditional video camera as much as I would have liked. Literally, I can put the Playsport in my pocket. Well, that's my two cents. Good luck!

making simple family movies is SUPER easy on the iPhone. As good as if not better than many camcorders, and one less thing to carry! so simple to upload to your computer through iTunes.
My daughter has a Flip and it is simple and takes HD and is SOOO easy to upload!
I've had a JVC 28X zoom digital camcorder for years and love it. It might be outdated by now, but mine works well.
