Recommend for a New Dirty Diaper Container...

I have to tell you, I tried diaper pails w/my oldest, none of them worked and were just a waste of money. When she turned 1 and from then on and w/my 2nd kid, I used these Vanilla scented diaper baggies from the Dollar Tree, there are 100 to a box and last for a while. For 1.00 a box, you can afford to buy a few boxes at a time. I would just put that in my regular trash and youl couldn't smell it.

I even turned 3 sister-in-laws and several friend onto this idea and they have all used it.

I second the Diaper Champ. We have one we use with my 5 month old. No odors except when you change it. We keep ours in the living room by the changing pad on the playpen.

I used the "Dirty Diaper" Bags they look just like the walmart bags except they are diaper sized, blue and scented. That is also how I started giving my children chores. When I was done and the bag was tied they took it to the trash can.

I love the Diaper Champ. It takes regular garbage bags, so you don't have to spend a ton on the refills. It's easy to dump the diaper in and easy to take the bag out when it's full and replace it. No having to carry the whole container to the garbage can, etc. I hated our Diaper Genie!

The only drawback on our Diaper Champ is when my daughter has dirty diapers, we can't leave them in the Diaper Champ for very long or her whole room permiates of poop very fast! We've started taking her dirty diapers into the big trash cans and her room has been smelling just fine, no odors.

I think these run for almost $30 at Wal-Mart, maybe a little less. Good luck!

We have used the diaper champ, too for coming up on two years with twins. We change about every three days and use the kitchen bags that have the smell incorporated with them plus my husband sprays the can with lysol with every bag change. Has worked well for us! Plus we got it at a garage sale for $2 so that's even better :-)

Get those scented diaper bags and just take them to the garage, or put them in a standard trash can with a lid.

We found it also helped, if the BMs are solid, to dump the diaper contents in the toilet. We started doing this when my son was around 20 months. I would even change him in the bathroom on a towel or bath mat/rug. He would get to flush and say bye.
I don't know if it has any connection to him beginning to poop in the potty soon after that or not, but unless he's ill, he usually tells us when he has to poop and will go in the potty. He won't pee on the potty on his own, but I'm not too stressed about it as long as the other is happening!

I also use The Diaper Champ. Odor does escape a little with the super smelly diapers, but I have a Febreeze True Air next to it and that takes care of it fine if I run it for just a few minutes.

Since your daughter is at a reasonable age to understand potty training I would just get the cheap diaper pale sold at Babies R Us that only cost about $10 at the most. It's not to big and it does have a odor control. I have two children, a 6-month daughter and a 3 year old son. My son has been potty trained for about 2 months. He's doing really good doing the daytime but at night he has to wear a pull up. Alot of mother's that I spoke with told me not to rush it when he's ready he'll do it and that was very true. It was only a matter of time and I had to have patience. In the back of my head I was thinking there's no way I could afford pampers for 2 children, but it came together in the end.

I bought a $15 pail from Babies R Us and use scented 8 gallon trash bags.... only wet diapers in there and empty it a couple times a week. It also has a deoderizing disk in the lid which helps keep the smell away. The dirty ones I tie up in grocery sacks and put in the outside trash. It's worked out great! I recommend this way to everyone, my friend finally threw out their smelly Diaper Genie and loves this new way.

We used the vanilla sented 4 gallon trash bags at Walmart (I think like a dollar something for like 30 of them) and just put them in the trash and we never smelled them. It was so much better than the Diaper Genie that we had. Good Luck!

We love the diaper champ. My other family members have always used the diaper genie too, but I thought it was too much trouble. The diaper champ uses your own trash bags, and you just flip the handle. There's no pushing and closing and twisting and turning or whatever you have to do to get the diaper genie to "eat" the diapers. We actually have to diaper champs (upstairs and down), and everyone who comes over to throw a diaper away leaves saying they're going to switch the genie for it because it was so much easier. Very easy upkeep too.

First thing, My husband and I got tired of buying those things, so we sack the diaper in a grocery sack and throw it in the large trash can in the garage. Also, the "Potty Dance" and a poster with STAMPS not stickers worked great with my 2 year old. All the potty dance consist of is you and her jumping up and down and singing,"You peepeed in the potty....You peepeed in the potty....wooooo hoooo You peepeed in the potty"!!!! She loved it! Also, she gets stickers at church and other places, but not stamps. I let her pick one out (a paw print) and we got a pink ink pad, I took a black poster and made squares, every time she peed...1 stamp, poop 2 stamps. I let HER stamp the poster and I would stamp her hand. Worked great!
