When baby turns to toddler, I have always found that being creative in the presentation is always a great way to get a fussy eater to try new things. Cutting foods in fun shapes, having things to dip foods in (like dipping veggies in applesauce, yogurt, cottage cheese or homemade dressings), rolling up lunch meats and cutting width-wise into little wheels (you can roll up cream cheese in there with it to keep things sticking), keep bites tiny but easy to pick up, and mix a new food in with the old favorites...provide many textures, colors and smells. Its better to introduce them now then later! Ha-ha!! I have also found that a lot of soy products are very tasty to baby...like the soy hot-doggies (great texture and better than the yucky processed baby-hotdogs). Keep things fun and have the same yummy stuff on your plate. Even babies pick up that what Momma and Daddy have on their plates MUST BE something that's exciting to have!

I think getting her accostumed to eating the same food as you do is the easiest in the long run!! Just being mindful of course of cutting things up small enough. Keep in mind too, that children have more tastebuds than adults and typically prefer foods that are not heavily seasoned. Exposing her to a wide range of textures will not only amuse her, but also help her be more receptive to different foods later on. Infants, on average, need to be exposed to a food many times (10-15) before they will accept it- so even if she is refusing something now, be sure to keep at it. Otherwise, picky infants turn into picky toddler and so forth ;)

She is probably ready to begin eating mostly finger foods. My son loved diced up cheese and fruit, diced up egg yolks, brown rice, diced carrots, sweet potatoes, chicken. Just about anything we ate he was eating too. If you offer her food off your plate she might enjoy it more.
